Re: VRA Queen series.

This was definitely an event I will never forget, taking out my first Queens prize and my 1st A grade competition... Dave, Yours was probably the best come-from-behind F-Class Queens win I've seen (from 8th place at the start of the final day). It should keep a smile on your face for some time :D ....

Re: VRA Queen series.

Well done all the winners =D> . Sounds like there were mixed fortunes with conditions at 1000, which often means top shooters go out of contention, but not so Rod Davies and James Corbett. I see a "new" name on the Queens winners list, being Dave Phipps in F-Std A. Good to see.

Re: VRA Queen series.

One of the best daily performances in Australian F-Open history. The bar has been raised to a very high level.

Re: VRA Queen series.

Thanks for that Rod - I was wondering if we were going to get some coalface reporting without Tim being there.

Re: VRA Queen series.

Congrats to all the winners today. In particular my Rosedale "compatriot" Albert. That 60 at 1000yds was special =D> =D> . This sets things up for a great F-Open competition in the Queens.

Very well done Julian =D> =D> . Now what we need to know is, are their things you do in either discipline which help in the other? :D

Re: Target Dimensions

A couple of things need changing on your table. Indicator for a 1 is black. F Class 6 is just 6 (not Super). BTW for TR V-Bull may also be called Centre or Centre Bull.

Re: Target Dimensions

1) Yes
2) That's correct. Its possible to get a miss high or low despite being less than 1830mm from the middle.
3) Aiming mark coincides with the 2 ring up to 400, then coincides with the 3 ring.

Re: Best binoculars for scoring?

My previous statement that It is not fair on shooters to have scorers and check scorers using substandard gear. was meant to imply that the shooter can gain from a good scorer as well as suffer. I agree that unnecessary delays imposed on a shooters can be very unfair, but a good scorer, who has goo...

Re: Best binoculars for scoring?

This question raises an issue that I have given some thought to in the past. In what situation does a scorer need excellent optics? The situation requiring the best optics would be if the spotter position appears inconsistent with the score indicator. Unless the scorer is very sure about an inconsis...

Re: Labradar

And there are other possibilities independent of the Labradar e.g. did both sessions start with a clean cold barrel, was the rate of fire about the same?

Re: Sierra or Berger

Talking to a F/TR shooter at our OPM on the weekend, he found about 0.040" spread with 185 Jugs. Reports that the new Berger factory mixes the output from multiple machines sadly seem to be true.
