Re: my Savage 110

have started reloading myself, tried 2209 initially but after some research decided to try the 2225, looks like this works this is 64.5g at 100m 3 shots. It really didn't like the higher powder charges at all. I tested in .1 increments 64.5-65.4

Re: Any experience of the Hawke ED Sidewinder 10-50x60

my thoughts, from when I owned an air rifle and was looking for scopes, from what I could gather the Hawke are primarily designed for PCP air rifles, I did consider one for my savage however I was concerned that it may not handle the recoil. I could not in my searching find any fitted to a centre fi...

Re: One mile + rifle

7mm rem mag or 300 win mag would do it and not cost a mint, 338 edge worth a look, 308 possibly, 338 lap and up will bring up cost substantially

Re: my Savage 110

500 yds today we did a 15 shot round with handicap, I was offered a proper rear bag to try today, well that sure surprised me on how much better that made me shoot...... we were asked to nominate a handicap, I said 10 going off recent form.... after a think I changed it to 5. Out of a possible 90 I ...

Re: my Savage 110

it's really great having some experienced shooters around me at the beaudesert range, was pointed out to me, which I was already aware of but due to the pistol grip design on my rifle to hold it comfortably my trigger finger was too far forward and wrapped around the trigger. So I got myself some ep...

Re: my Savage 110

cheers mate, my best score so far was at 500yds, 10 shot 1st 11-2nd has been 120-11, not having the gear like the others probably is not helping but sure puts the pressure on me to shoot right :)

Re: new guy

cheers mate, I used a doppler to speed test mine and it came up at 2490 fps, interestingly the ballistics program I use only matches the scope turret clicks at 2650 fps but either way I don't run a 'hot' load, it shoots nice as is so not much point mucking with it I think. I use 180g sierra match ki...

my Savage 110

This is my Savage 110 in a BA chassis. I bought it 2nd hand and was in less than good condition. I have since had Allan Swan fit a new SS fluted barrel, fixed the sticky Rifle basix trigger, bought a CIP length mag to replace the modified short length one.... and clearanced the action as the BA chas...
