I’d still like to see photos of your setup of the rifle if you have any ? Also photos of the target with grouping issues also ?

Hi Mozzie. Will take some photos as soon as I get some free time and post them here. Cheers for your help to, much appreciated.

Trevor I am not sure if it is the calibre or the barrel that is responsible but this one of mine coppers up pretty bad. Has fired approx 600 hundred rounds and been cleaned after every session but shows no sign of 'smoothing out'

BRETT B wrote:42 grains of AR2208 would seem RED HOT load to me !!

Sorry,,typo on my behalf,,using 2209.
The barrel is Howa's 26 inch varmint and the stock is a GRS. Action has been bedded and barrel is floated.
Will try letting it cool down then shoot another string.
thanks for all the replies

Grouping after 7 to 8 shots

I have a 26 inch heavy barrelled Howa in 6.5 Creedmoor wearing a Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60 scope. On the bench I have got it holding 1/4 to 1/2 MOA inch groups at 200 meters. The load is a 140 grain Hornady ELDM sitting over 42 grains of AR2208 lit by a Federal 210m in a Nosler custom case. Projecti...

Re: 5th Annual Shoot for Autism "2 Day Event"

Hey All. As a dad of a 15 year old boy who is on the severe end on the Autism spectrum I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for organising, and competing in this event. I am currently completing a PhD in psychology which has taken me 9 years (I am now 47). I began my degree after being i...

Re: 6.5 Creedmore - anyone?

Hi Tim I am shooting a Howa 26 inch barrel in 6.5CM. I am just getting back into long range shooting after a 10 year break but have found the calibre awesome. Shooting 140 grain Hornady ELDM's over 42 grains of AR2209 in Nosler cases lit by a Federal 210 primer. Projectile is seated 20 thou of the l...

Re: scope question

Following. Had a look through a Vortex Golden Eagle last week at the range and to say it blows away the view i get through my Athlon Argos is an understatement. Haven't had a chance to look through the 15 to 55 NF but have taken a peek through a 24 (or was it 25) power one. After being able to compa...

Re: Building an Aluminium Stock with Basic Tools

Did a bit more work last night on the action section and roughed out the pieces for the fore end. The front section is 76mm wide and I will skeleton it to reduce weight once I am happy with how all the rest goes together. For now I have drilled and tapped the holes that will end up being plug welded...

Re: Building an Aluminium Stock with Basic Tools

Spray on some CRC for cutting lube ......... Cheers Gyro. I have been using Inox as cutting lube. Seems to work okay however today the cutting piece built up some harsh chatter and the alloy gummed up the cutting bit. My fault as I was rushing it a bit. Think I might giver serious consideration to ...

Building an Aluminium Stock with Basic Tools update 3

Have always wanted to build an adjustable aluminium rifle stock so today (my one day off a week) I bit the bullet and began the project. My F Class rifle is nothing flash but I get it to consistently print .3 moa groups at 200. It is a Howa 6.5 Creedmoor with the 26-inch heavy barrel. I am running a...

Hexagonal Boron Nitride

Hi all. First post and I was hoping someone could tell me if there is anywhere in Oz you can purchase Hexagonal Boron Nitride? I am specifically looking for hBN, 99% Pure, APS: 70 nm. Also, has anyone tried coating Hornady ELD-M's with it? I am worried about what effect cleaning the projectiles in a...
