It is a 8x68s case Ackley improved in 7mm. 73gns of 2225

I stand corrected ! As I thought 280 ai was the biggest one could go in standard bolt face ( if that's correct ) !

Sorry , I haven't read all of the thread . But what about 300 rum , 50 bmg powder? Would it be in the same...

Re: What calibre?

Dont discout the 6br Ackley improved. We have one on our range. Less hassle with fire forming than the dasher and an improvement on the br case for capacity Good luck for the wife......, but we all know that you want to ditch those iron sights and come over to the enlightened side :) this rifle is ...

Re: 6.5 150g SMK

Does anyone know anywhere in Australia that has these available? I'm guessing they will be around $1 a bullet. Has anyone tried ordering sierra bullets from one of the US places directly to try get them cheaper? how much red tape is involved? thanks Look up reloading international, there is a bit o...

Re: Barrel Behaviour Theory

ok - I miss-understood your post, but thanks for the pic. i was thinking there might be something that showed how wide the tune was or something like that, which could in turn be related back to the theories presented. Anyways I won't get this off topic. No worries , time to let the real people hav...

Re: Barrel Behaviour Theory

It’s funny how you say the last 6” of the muzzle as this is where I’ve shoved the pink cricket handle grip rubber on my bart .284 ( smithed by Fairbarn) . And also where I say secondary orings should be placed . I would love to spill the beans on how to tune the barrel with orings . But again I’m s...

Re: Barrel Behaviour Theory

John, there is a nightmare of different vibrations patterns to get your head around as we try to identify their sources, then try to work out how they mesh or interact and a lot of blokes who are specialists in this field know more than me. Yes, seeing some of those changing sections induced from t...
