Re: 7 mm 178 copperheads blog

Geoff, The 178gr bullet Graham has in his photo is not the 178gr VLD bullet you are thinking of which did require a short throat... This bullet is made on a new set of dies... With a 189fb it will seat 3/4 of the way down a 284 neck comfortably and touch the lands.. Cheers Alan Sorry Alan , I basic...

Re: 7 mm 178 copperheads blog

They need a short throat, ideal, 8 Twist but you will find that out. Sorry Geoff , these are the 178’s not the new 184 ‘s . Yes 9 twist maybe a stretch with the 184’s. But u never know until trying it . The 178’s are 1.478 “ Miller stab of 1.63 at 2830 FPS . Over 1 is stable but again depending on ...

7 mm 178 copperheads blog

Well I finally got my sample pack from Ken at Aussies Own Copperhead Projectiles . My first impression is , they look like they will shoot !! Very clean and precise, not much unlike a Berger !! Very clean , similar shape to a hybrid but a little shorter! Should be close in bc to a Berger and maybe a...

Re: The Future

GSells I go to a club where they use MB sometimes and they place a barrier between the MB and the rest . It's lined with noise reducing foam . And they had a noise metre there a while back . It was much less noisy on the other side of it ... But the other issue we have is most PRS shooters don't wa...

Re: The Future

Well it's been mentioned a few times now. Seats on the NRAA board. Am I the only one on here considering that? I was also under the impression muzzle brakes were allowed in Service rifle now. Is that correct? It's a fair call that laying to the side of one of those isn't a pleasant experience so wh...

Re: The Future

There are stacks of hunters/field shooters who would like to use the nraa ranges. I don't shoot F class I'm one of the many people who would like to pay and use your ranges. I have a 700m nraa range 5min drive for my house. Unfortunately I have never shot one round there because of the rules!!!! Wh...

Re: The Future

I think in Queensland we are ok and are growing. Muzzle breaks are just an issue and service target rules being implemented is our only issue at the moment. All of our opms are going well that I can see.

Re: The Future

I think Scott R and Northarm rifle club should be commended with the implementation of their hunter class. Even has Muzzle breaks !! Prs is being shot on my home range on Ssaa side and I’m hoping that we can get them to come across to the full bore side . We have the service rifle rules with muzzle ...

Re: Don’t throw out your worn out 6.5 mm barrel!!

It's an old true flight. It's threaded for a Barnard P though so might not be enough left if it needs a full rechamber? You might get away with it if you can just reduce the thread diameter to go in your action. If you have to chop it there wont be much over 24". Hi Tim , thanks heaps mate , b...

Re: Given Current Component Availability...

When I get some of Ken’s new pills I’ll do some testing and let u know . I hope others can share their experiences with them too! We should support Aussie made ! Ben , 8.5 twist would do it adequately. 9 twist is the least one would go . The Sg calcs ( this is coming from somebody who thinks he know...

Re: Given Current Component Availability...

So for every box of Bergers we buy, we will be supporting the competition? To support the team, Berger Bullets will donate $1.00 for every box of 7mm 184gr F-Open Hybrid bullets sold towards U.S. Team expenses for the upcoming 2021 F-Class World Championships in South Africa. Yep !! And we fund our...
