Hi Albert , thanks my mate , I might get a few boxes of you guys and give em ago! Impressive bc of .401 g7 . I think this is close if not better than the ballistics of a 300 gr SMK 338 cal !!

Re: Copperhead projectile approval?

I’m looking forward to trying out Kens 7 mm pills ! With Berger stuffing us Aussie shooters around . It maybe a good time to support the local product .
I know Cam Mc used 103 in his dasher and I think Julie still does ! Apparently a new 180 gr pill is in the works that is close to the bergers .

Hornady eld 180 match , 1-9 twist

Hi All , just wandering if anyone has tried eld 180 match with a 9 twist cut rifle ( BARTlein ) barrel ? And is it even worth trying at 1000 yds at 2830 FPS or more ?
Kind regards Graham :)

Re: When does BC Adavtage , become a disadvantage?

What about Berger 195’s , they haven’t in my opinion really made any inroads and smk’s 183’s have sort of worked for some but not for others !??

When does BC Adavtage , become a disadvantage?

Hi all , I’m trying hard to keep in the shadows of late on this forum ! However of late you may not tell lol! But I thought tonight, this is a valid and interesting subject, and maybe of benefit to the fraternity!? So I’ll repeat my Question as in Andrew’s post is . WHEN DOES BC ADAVATAGE , BECOME A...

Re: 300 WSM loads

To answer my own question, absolutely no pressure signs at all with a node in the 66s. so i will try low 66s at 800m on saturday. recoil is stout in a 7.5 kg rifle, noticeably more than the saum at these velocities (assuming around 2800, no chrono). Andrew, that is the million dollar Question? How ...

Re: 7mm SAUM Rechamber/Barrel Life

Brett and Dave I don’t disagree at all about the saum it’s proven and I have it really against me to prove the 280 ackley . I feel I have to some degree proved the lil 7-08 ai but only for short to mids .
Time will tell at a Queens near you soon , I’ll sink or swim ..... o rings and all !! Lol!

Re: 7mm SAUM Rechamber/Barrel Life

Maybe we have come full circle in regards that , everyone switched from the 6.5 - .284 to the .284 because it was burning through barrels ? Now we are sort of back there again !?? Maybe ?? My 7/08 ai has about 1500 rounds on it and there is now no leading lands , but it still shoots really well , ma...

Re: Max peak elevation of trajectory?

Ps , if u look at the left bottom corner of the ground near the gong , you will see a small puff of dust . Which indicates the last terminal trajectory off the gong !

Thanks everyone!

Sorry just edited , it is the other left for the puff of dust not right ! Lol!

Re: Max peak elevation of trajectory?

Anyway , that out of the way now , checkout the U tube vid in the link above ! My mate thought it would be cool to get some drone footage of the attempt . I thought it would be a waste of time lol! But wow I’m glad he had it as the mirage was so bad . The only way we could call the corrections was w...

Re: Max peak elevation of trajectory?

Litz's book gives that one a G7 of .418 and without taking the atmospheric data into consideration his software says around 25 feet at 500 yards. Happy shooting. Thanks Barry , looks like we are a long way off the lines , that’s only about 7 m high at that point ! Yes you would be correct with the ...

Re: Max peak elevation of trajectory?

Not entirely sure you've given us enough information Graham but it looks to me that if you're hitting the target at a mile with 67 minutes of elevation top of the trajectory will be around 1050 yards at a height around 38 feet. I did this calculation assuming a .30 cal 210gr sierra. Happy to be cor...

Re: Max peak elevation of trajectory?

The first question I had was at what distance? And most importantly 30 Meters or 30 minutes? 1moa at 900m is roughly 260mm I think, so we are talking very different scenarios. Dave G 17.5 miliradians or about 67.5 moa at 1 mile or 1.6 km . I'm worried about hitting power lines ! Ok , ok I will come...

Re: Seb max with light rifles

Hi John , I’ve used a max and they are very well made and are very heavy too! But I cannot see why you couldn’t use a lighter rifle as long as you had a 3” frorend or a 3” anti torque plate to hold the stock in the groove . I own a seb neo and I’ll most likely be buried with it . With my cold dead h...
