Re: 12 Year old Girl beats all comers in F standard at DDRA

The Darling Downs rifle association held its OPM last weekend on the parched earth a couple of hours west of Brisbane. One huge shout out has to go to 12-Year-old ( a guess on age ) Mia Lowe from the Goondiwindi club shooting an older 223 rem may be an Omark with a homemade bagrider unbranded scope...

Scott.

Hi Mate ! I don’t know about a Barnard . But with a jewel the manufacturer says that the lighter fluid or shelite has lubricating qualities already.

Re: Trigger questions

Wow ! Yep that’s what can happen ! I regularly use diggers shelite and a syringe to pour in through the top of the do Hicky thing that hooks onto the bolt sear . And every 200-300 rounds I’ll pull the whole trigger out and soak in shelite and then pull out and let it drain with trigger shoe downward...

Re: Trigger questions

Jewel as my primary and I have a timney as a backup! The timney BR is a great trigger and more rugged than a jewel. I’ve broken jewels ( yep I know , I seem to break stuff!) from blown primers . Timney are very reliable but a pain to adjust especially in a panda glue in action. Jewel great trigger b...

Re: Is my scope Broke ?

Well with huge vertical in my shooting that totally destroyed my Mojo and confidence, nearly chopped a great cal that was working fine ( 280 ai ) and basically was just bad !! What was it ? The chicken or the egg ? Mucka opm proved to myself that unexplainable vertical and wild shots are long gone !...

Re: 280 AI information Blog

Well , finally, some good news for 280 ai faithful! I had a good training session with the 280 ai today in blustery mirage conditions today at 1010 yds! Seems after I sent my scope away and reinstalled it , the 280 shoots and my form is back on the mend ! Below is just some 100 m testing and mag spe...

Re: Is my scope Broke ?

Ok scope back on rifle . I did do some retuning work also but rifle works again . I think I might send my scope away every 12 months or so and pay them to give it a service. Maybe just a prudent thing to do to avoid a situation as I went through. Which I wouldn’t wish upon anyone as you are just sec...

Re: Just starting out

Is it easy enough to get a Howa rebarreled with a good target barrel and get a half decent stock? Yep very easy . There are so many stocks that are inletted for Howas and very easy to re barrel . Howa action are a flat based Remington action , well pretty much ! Some Comp actions such as the Stolle...

Re: Just starting out

What RJ Said ! But also if you can find a good omark and get a barrel adapter and maybe a Vortex scope in MoA and a new Maddco barrel chambered in that Manbun cal , the 6.5 creedmore. That is most likely a good starting point . Maybe get in Touch with the VRA President Albert Van wyk , who is a very...
