Re: Which caliber to ahoot for new shooter

My 2 cents worth ! I started in f standard and it is by far the best place to learn to wind read and shoot ! B grade is extremely competitive and just to be at the top of b grade you would be one of the best in Australia! No easy feat ! You can also be competitive on a budget and do more shooting wi...

Re: Concentricity

Hi Rich Was talking about the Hornardy concentricity gauge which straighten the projectile so it is parallel to the casing. Do you, think it is worth taking the time to do this and does anyone think it improves accuracy? Cheers Jason I think I believe you measuring run out of your rounds and checkin...

Re: Best gun case 1400mm long

Hi, Guys, I am in the market for a new gun case to suit our long F-class rifles, the length is critical as 1400mm is perfect for the rifle and also will sit sideways in a Toyota dual cab. Any advice would be appreciated. Maybe the best value for money and best but expensive. Thanks Scotty Hi Mate ,...

Re: How a 280 AI Compares to 7mm RSAUM

Very accurate, forgiving, long barrel life , budget cal ! Poor Mans saum! Forgot to add . I started doing testing of 2225 about 62 gr with 180’s and was giving me 3030 FPS and was wanting more speed ! I believe I could have pinned a reliable load into the 3100 FPS but abandoned testing when my scope...

Re: How a 280 AI Compares to 7mm RSAUM

Hi , I came very close to winning Qld Queens last year with a 280 ai( needed a little More luck lol) against another 280ai of K Hills . I believe they are a poor mans Saum ! Easy to get 30/06 brass and fire form . Actually I started a thread 280 ai blog and 280 ai cream of wheat fire forming . It lo...

Re: RUN TOO FAST?

Don't the top F Standard shooters get very close to the F Open shooters in the Oz comps, despite giving away a HUGE amount of wind drift ? Wow Rob are you trying to start a Fight ! Last year Wilddog won at Muckadilla and beat open I think it was , defiantly beat me he was in standard . I ...

Nah, I just miss shootin.
I don't care who else is there, I'm just going to either be walking around sniffing gunpowder fumes with a big silly grin, or looking through a scope of some sort with a bigger silly grin.

What about the Mankini

Re: Can case volume be inferred by its weight ?

I've sent enough rounds down range and for me I noticed a difference in x ring count . But that only works like anything else , when all of the other factors are in line . Otherwise it's a waste of time . And wow , Dave Mac is back ! Congrats on your Dad winning the Qld Queens , could not have happe...

Re: Bored ! 300 rum 230 gr loads please ?

Well I’ve changed out the 338 edge barrel to the 300 rum , ready for 215’s . Interesting enough is that the hornady 208’s have a bit better bc’s .However this has been put on the back burner as I’ve started my turbo ford Barra build for the family daily drive Terry! I’ll try and get behind the gun t...

Re: Testing the Testing

For me , running a extremely busy plumbing firm , family love for cars makes it very tough to test the testing. For example I’ll fire 5-7 to get a sample Sd , then group shapes and learnt experience and known nodes . I take a lot of short cuts because I have too! Either that or don’t shoot . Like I ...
