Re: sara queens

FWIW similar gripes/winges/moans/complaints re the above are heard here too. I don't want a chair ! I just want to shoot well and if l get on the podium then that's better still. I have a lot of respect for anybody who does well in any class. Probably they deserve to be there ( "machine gunning...

Re: Lee Collet Neck Die

Wal86, if your reloading dies are straight/true ( via good gear being set up properly ) then I'd ask how on earth could there be any runout ? That's always been the question for me regarding runout. I do notice some very dodgy measuring tools available to check for a problem that to me should not be...

Re: Any experience of the Hawke ED Sidewinder 10-50x60

The glass in the NXS is the same as the BR model I believe. I only know that from watching a youtube clip from a Nightforce rep who told that story. Just to add some perhaps useful advice : I'm age 60 with degraded vision and have a real need these days to be able to see the reticle cross hairs on t...

Re: Any experience of the Hawke ED Sidewinder 10-50x60

The trouble is mate is if you're anything like me ya don't properly understand what goes on inside a rifle scope. To give you an example I had a Weaver brand budget level scope on a rabbit shooting rifle I recently decided to play with and when i was sighting it in I adjusted it and I KNOW it did no...

Re: NECK SIZING

http://www.accurateshooter.com/technical-articles/case-head-separation-cause-diagnosis/ This is the result of incorrectly set up dies, not the result of sizing alone. Any tool is only as good as the user. Keith H. =D> Yes Kieth - elementary - but unfortunately many don't get this right !! I always ...

Re: BURRIS XTR-II F CLASS SCOPE 8-40 FFP with MOA reticle

Just to bring this thread back to where it started ..... Mark Azzo your appraisal of the Burris XTR-II 8-40 FFP makes a lotta sense to me !!! I could I believe happily use that scope. What needs to be noted here ( say I ) is the kind of errors re where the bullet goes - relative to where the cross h...

Re: BURRIS XTR-II F CLASS SCOPE 8-40 FFP with MOA reticle

I think you just need enough power to pick a spot in the x ring to aimoff, ie left x , 1/2 way left x, dead ctr etc. I can do that with a 32x, better with a 42x, great with a 50x.& only can use more when mirage permits. I would say a 40x is the min for f open, and a 30x for f std. obviously som...

Re: BURRIS XTR-II F CLASS SCOPE 8-40 FFP with MOA reticle

And don't be thinking just because some guy has an 80 power scope ( that he's paid moonbeams for and can see flies on the 1000 yard target ) that he will outshoot you when you have a much less expensive scope !!

Re: BURRIS XTR-II F CLASS SCOPE 8-40 FFP with MOA reticle

The NF Benchrest scope is a big heavy scope mate but does not have zero stop. Awesome scopes but too big for a field rifle I reckon. The extra adjustment range ( on the NXS ! ) is always good and can save you having to fool around with sloped bases etc I have not had a Zero Stop in 8 years of compet...
