Re: 155gr eld match loads

Start around 43.8 and work up to 44.6/44.8 of 2206 h, watching carefully for pressure signs. I have found that the eldm tends to give a bit higher pressure and higher velocity than other manufacturers at the same weight. They also leave more copper than some such as lapua by a large amount.

Re: Australian made LMB actions

photos? bruce. They’re few and far between. I did have some of the one I should have bought but they are gone. He makes two basic styles, a round body action which is virtually a barnard footprint from memory and a square body action which I believe is what the target rifle guys run. This is an old...

Re: Brass prep

New brass, buy good brass like Peterson, or some of the other ones. Debur and chamfer the flash hole, weigh each case and sort into order of weight, after reaming the primer pockets. Once fireformed to the chamber trim and check water capacity of each case, sort into order of capacity. Maintain the ...

Slightly more on average than a barnard. By what I have seen they are worth the little extra. I didn’t end up buying one this time around but hopefully next time Peter is still making them. David Brewster and tim Lawrence can tell you first hand what they are like.

Re: 260 AI (******old post*******)

Bill , 2217 will work with 147 as it need pressure to burn correctly. Whether the bullet works is another topic. As Trav suggests use soft 2209 load to fireform. FYI , I did just get the Sierra 150 to 2900 (no pressure) with 2217 !!! Nice. That should make it a good 1500 caliber. There are a couple...

Re: Mound Setup 101

As someone who has struggled with not the best and latest you beaut equipment for the last couple of years and had to work our how to make do with the cruddy stuff I had, the main thing I will say that is of the utmost importance, is consistency. Regardless of if you are running a Farley rest and a ...

I think my suggestion on page three is starting to prove itself too. Don’t you reckon ;)

Built for not much more than the price of a barnard action.

Re: 260 AI (******old post*******)

And the other bit of advice is make a drop tube. Mine is about 14” long.

And yes this is an old thread but there’s not a great deal of information about this mighty fine caliber out there. Definitely worth keeping it alive as it is growing in popularity again.

Re: 260 AI load data please

Hey Brett , Just in process of planning a 260AI build specifically for 147 eldm hornady pills . I reckon 2213 or even 2217 is needed for the slower burn rate and hence less pressure . Will be fireforming adi308 brass after neck turning . Any recomendations on loads for this . I want to able to get ...

It is a 8x68s case Ackley improved in 7mm. 73gns of 2225

I stand corrected ! As I thought 280 ai was the biggest one could go in standard bolt face ( if that's correct ) !

Nope the 6.5&8 x 68 Schüler has a rim diameter of 0.512.

Re: And my new effy build begins.

I'd be interested to hear whether you have any stiff bolt lift problems. Seems every report I've read on the u300 is accompanied by a comment on how heavy the bolt lift is. That was amended with all the late model versions which came to Australia. To be honest I don’t think it’s that much heavier t...
