Re: Starting out in F Standard - Tikka T3x?

Go for the Tikka. The best thing for you starting out is to get and practice, compete, ask questions and have fun! The Tikka Varmint will deliver thousands of shots very accurately out of the box, and provide a great way to get you into learning the finer aspects of the shooting disciplines; reading...

Seeking Experience loading 143gn ELD-x & 147gn ELD-M in .260Rem

Hey everyone I have found some 147gn ELD-M and 143gn ELD-X to trial in my .260Rem. I am seeking any experience people might have with loading for either of these projectiles and what powders people might have tried. My inclination is that 2209 would be appropriate and starting with loads advised for...

Re: Bathurst Rifle Club OPM 2017

Thanks Bathurst for a great OPM.
Was well worth the drive with some very good competition. Loved the targets as well, some teething issues but nothing that won’t disappear with some experience and locking down the SOPs.

Well done guys

Re: powder in .223

Thanks eveyone

I’m thinking I might play with 2208 and 06H as I do have a bit of it on hand.
The intent is to keep the rifle completely stock for a while just a bipod and a rear bag and just see what I can get it to do. I’m thinking the 70-73gn Berger projectiles are where I’ll start.

powder in .223

G'day everyone I'm planning on picking up a .223, nothing fancy just a T3x Varmint, to play with in the short to medium ranges and occasionally knocking over ferals. Being new to the caliber (I already load and shoot .308 in TR and .260Rem in FO), what sort of powder are people using with 75-80gn pi...

Re: .260 Rem loads

Hey Frank that's correct about the 4350/2209 equivalence. I'm currently using it across 130's and 140s/142s in my rifle described above. I was about to start pushing my loads of 140s up towards 41.5-42.2 region to get the MV to around 2750fps and flatten the flights a little at the shorter ranges. h...

Re: .260 Rem loads

Cheech is that being used in target work or for hunting? if Target, what ranges have you shot and what sort of results have you achieved? I have a 260Rem on a Tikka Action, 26" hardy, Med-varmint 1:8twist, but also a good stock of 123gn Amax. was looking for a decent load to use some up with. c...
