Re: More on Barrel Tuners

It has all been said but you ask this question "Yeah - I find the waiting on more evidence bit is where the sticky bit is. Evidence of what " There are harmonics in many different areas for example in electronics you find them in radio waves and tuning for antennas it is something that can...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

For both the temp case and the bullet deformity case, That is why I made the stipulation of not measuring on paper and just looking at the barrel movements both vertical and horizontal plane. I am weighing my projectiles and do find some very light outliers they get used in club practice when just c...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

I am probably on the same page as you Gyro. Coming from an electronic background and test and measurement equipment I have seen and used devices to both tune electrical Harmonics and remove them with quite a few different techniques. A lot of what I have seen published to date has not used what I wo...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

If I was doing the tests I would do them for all the states you mentioned " Personally I question the validity of needing to know the inherent frequency of a barrel that isn't in an action, that isn't in a stock that isn't being gripped tightly or not..." I would also do so very high speed...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

Has anyone ever taken a barrel to a musician or a music store where they have tuning equipment. If a barrel is struck with a metal striker (think like triangle) it will resonate at a certain frequency. I have no idea how this may fit into the equation of barrel tuning but thinking about it i think ...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

One thing with Tuners is that as soon as you put any weight on the end of the barrel it is going to change the Jump of the gun. (The jump is the equal and opposite force of the initial explosion and the balance and fulcrum points influence this. In WW2 this jump effect was noticed and no two guns (I...

Thanks very interesting. Glad I filled the bottom (plastic base that had hollows) with liquid nails added some weight and took out a little spring.

Re: tell me about tuners for fclass

I have been reading this thread with great interest and I know I don't know how to tune a rifle without a tuner (Gyro I dont know what a E value is for a stock). If those that know this information wouldn't mind it would be greatly appreciated if you could PM me some information or a link to some re...

Re: fouling shots

I would say not enough cleaning (but it may just be the very last step). At our club we did a little study on this and found some time ago that the first shot or two was slower causing this (30-60 fps). We then had some members with new barrels and again right from the start we put them over the chr...

Re: scope?

I found my scores jumped a few points when going from a NF BR 32* to the NF comp being able to resolve within the X ring made the difference. I know I could of been using a different technique (framing or setting up on on other parts of the target but to be able to see more clearly helped me.

Re: New Bushnell Tactical Elite Scopes for F Class

Not one of those but I have a Bushnell Tactical elite 6-25 and it has a very nice glass. I don't know if it would track week in week out for years but it certainly tracks well.

Re: Victorian Queens Series - 2018

Rod not sure if I understand what you mean about the squadding. My idea of the best squadding would be to put say the F open toped ranked shooters all in first place on a board on different targets then the next ranked shooters in second place. So for instance in the Vic Queens all the F Open shoote...
