Re: Victorian Queens Series - 2018

Rod not sure if I understand what you mean about the squadding. My idea of the best squadding would be to put say the F open toped ranked shooters all in first place on a board on different targets then the next ranked shooters in second place. So for instance in the Vic Queens all the F Open shoote...

Re: Victorian Queens Series - 2018

The traditions are not really the target rifle shooters in all strictness they were the traditions of the Military Musketeers and when the Military run 303 days ended a new category was formed. These things evolve and will continue. Congratulations to all the winners.

Re: Alpha munitions brass

I didn't really mean take on Lapua as in market place. But in the technical argument space. Lapua went to great lengths using their wiz kid Brian as the front man to say the small primer and flash hole was the ducks nuts giving lower ES, SD ect developed for the US F-Class team. Its the flash hole s...

Re: Alpha munitions brass

It will be interesting. It will stir up the Lapua camp with the small 1.5 mm hole on the SR cases and all their data. I had some SR Lapua cases that the Flash hole got a bit ragged and i had to have another go on the decapping pin. In the end I drilled those holes out to 1.59mm so not much larger th...

Re: Alpha munitions brass

However even the Small Primer cases have a 2mm flash hole even larger than the standard Large Primer cases would have so it may not be suitable for target rifle work.

Re: Shooting in Commonwealth Games

For the younger shooters absolutely the PRS is more exiting and FB is boring. All day to shoot 36 rounds and one detail may be over in 5 min sometimes yet it still takes all day.

Re: ATR magazine name change

The decline of TR is actually amazing i was looking at Queens results and the number of TR shooters in 2014 for instance was enormous to what it is now. That rate of decline should also be taken into account by all.

As an addition to the above also perhaps bolstering the numbers in the club. No need to join the *RA if the compete in another national competition governed by someone else but join the local club that looks after the range maintains the targets ect all money for maintenance.

Re: canting reticle to allow for spin drift

I was reading an article today about a particular gun and in it was mentioned that not all bubble levels are created equal. This really surprised me due to the simple way they work. I suppose the tube the bubble is in could have non parallel walls or have a bend in it. How to determine the specs for...
