Re: New Sporter/Hunter Class...is your club promoting it?

Personally I put all of the competition and the rules about the hunter class in the area of "its just a guideline" I look at this class and set of rules as a way to justify or legally allow this type of shooting (Non specific target rifles) to take place on our ranges. For every old fart (...

Re: Auto Trickler upgrade, prepare to kick yourself if you’ve just bought one

It still uses the same scales however. What and where did you hear anything suspect about A&D scales? I would be very surprised they are used in a lot or more so nearly always a laboratory environment. This would be a blessing to A&D a public retail marketplace from Labs only to general publ...

It has been a bit windy this current year though, so it will be interesting, or should I say frustrating.

Re: E CLASS. BUDGET F CLASS

F standard a class that was set up in Aus to be a more economical and level playing field. Perhaps should consider changing the allowing of rests. I do believe that they are an advantage but to spend $2000 or more on one is just not in the budget of a lot of shooters. The big heavy brick is not some...

Re: VRA lead up and Queens.

I think the cost is a big one. I know we don't have a big pool of active shooters to draw from as well. I think some of the prize money could be reduced and go back to reducing the entry fees. Using paid markers is absolutely necessary if you are not going to use electronic targets. It would be grea...

Is that a dry or wet Tumbler. If it is wet I would like to have it. Can be picked up at Bendigo. Switch not a problem at all.

Re: Grains or grams?

Still lots of sources of error in a mechanical scale. The pivot point for instance. Its type of construction jewel, kinfe blade, magnetic dampened lots of different types all with pros and cons and different sources of error. Nothing is error free, its a matter of listing the sources determining the...

Re: Grains or grams?

But what if your scales will show 0.001 grams but only 0.02 grns. Now what do you think? There is actually a bit more to it than that with electronic scales and there are other specifications that need to be looked at as well as just the resolution. Mainly to see if the resolution is a good guide of...

Re: Submerging barrels in cleaning solutions

Methanol is not very common these days due to it being, well drunk, and causing blindness. Mentholated Spirits should be methanol but I am pretty sure it is now Ethanol which has exactly the same cleaning properties as the Methanol anyway. As for being hydroscopic well yes it is but only in concentr...

Just a heads up on the KG12 yes it is a very good product but use care and either gloves or wash your hands well after using. The only ingredient other than water is Cyanide.

Re: AUSTRALIAN FCWC TEAM SELECTION

I know what you mean Tim. In the ideal world, you would have a Captain who is perfect for the job, and then if that person does exist, they must be willing to put their hand up for the job. The reality is usually quite different, probably for other national teams as well. I think this is even more ...

Re: which would you recommend

Theres no need to get on the bandwagon and do as everyone else does. However there is generally a good reason why a small group of barrels represent the majority of those being used. I think it would be investigating Bartlien, Krieger and Lilja to name a few they are all pretty much the same cost as...
