Re: Nagambie OPM - Supporting Variety Victoria

If you leave the decision date to mid April and then go ahead with the event it would only leave two weeks to sell tickets. That would be an issue to get them sold to the general rank and file in Rifle Clubs.

Re: Flash hole size

The smaller holes tightened up the ES. I think that is a common finding of people when they switch to Palma Brass. so from what I found the hole size was responsible for a lot of that. What I couldn't do was try large primers with small holes. Perhaps you could get some brass from Bertram that he ha...

Re: Flash hole size

Like I said I did some experimentation and found that the Large Primer pocket brass to weigh exactly the same as the small primer pocket brass. Given the variation in both cases they were the same. I dont think the more brass in the base of the SR Primer Palma brass is still true. I also did the tes...

Re: Flash hole size

I have seen the same thing and went through the experimenting process. The size of the hole makes the majority of the difference.

Re: Alpha Munitions - Brass interest

There was a guy that started to import and distribute the brass. Did he give up on the idea.

Re: NRAA QUEENS / Australian Championships

To me the National Queens is just a second Queens held in Queensland luck for the Queenslanders on having both or a choice of dates. One question I think that should be asked as it is "Our Money Jan" is the National Queens making a profit or is it costing the organization money. I think mo...

Re: another discipline

There are so many disciplines in the SSRs that are unused these days that could be resurrected to cater for some more shooters. The sniper class is part 16.2.3 under the Service Rifle Shooting rules. A lot of what is asked for is already there clubs just need to be a bit flexible to cater and to enc...

Re: NRAA QUEENS / Australian Championships

Nothing distinguishes it from other Queens events. For those who don't live in Brisbane, it is really just a second Brisbane Queens for the year. This is also true in that there is no real qualifying for the event. That certainly may limit the numbers but there really is no more Status to that even...

Re: NRAA QUEENS / Australian Championships

That measure is a valid one, However it does have some bias. The people that attend the Queens on a regular basis are your dedicated loyal, committed members. That many people may still be going when the NRAA only has 100 members. To look at participation and membership you have to look with a much ...

In Service rifle you can. The rapid fire details are still in the SSrs. We run a 303 day every year.

Re: 6 br additional calibre

Another small gripe that may rub the 308 FS shooters the wrong way is the bullet Tax. Since the removal of restrictions on 223 approved bullets they are able to avoid the bullet tax the 6BR calibre most likely would also be able to avoid the tax. This just leaves the FS 308 shooters to foot the bill...

Re: 6 br additional calibre

Certainly allowing a 6BR in FSD some have been saying that it wont cost more as you can just rebarrel but I think to be truly competitive at all ranges and conditions it would require you to have both calibres 6br and 308. spinning barrels off and on at the range may be ok for a very small % certain...

Re: 6 br additional calibre

Bob it is already included by the nature of the Rule for approved projectiles Appendix 1 Any projectile to maximum weight of 91 grains Why the 308 cant be written in the same way I don't understand. I think Lapua should take the NRAA to court on the basis of restriction of trade or Discrimination as...

Re: 6 br additional calibre

I think including the 6BR into Fstd is not a good idea. At the present time there are still restrictions on exactly what 155 projectiles can be used. Introducing a whole new calibre makes that look ludicrous. Fstd was also meant to be a discipline that kept the costs down. The use of $2000+ front re...

Re: Safety: Retiring from the mound

Seems everybody here is in the camp it wont affect me so it doesn't matter. Well its not a problem for me either but I do care about getting more people in off the other forms of shooting and onto our ranges. It effects some Eliso stocks and there are plenty of modern rifles that it could effect to....
