Re: High power scopes and NQ mirage!!

Yup that march 5-40 certainly looks the goods, I will be saving a while for that one....they say good things come to those who wait hey!!! I agree that the march seems to offer what you need without paying for all the other stuff. For example the nightforce atacr or Schmidt and bender PM 2 you have ...

Re: High power scopes and NQ mirage!!

Thanks for all the responses everyone certainly seems to be some very different approaches. Unfortunately where I shoot there is no shade protection at all I have to lay down on the headlands of a cane paddock so my gun is sitting in the sun the whole time. I don't however shoot 15 shot string fast ...

High power scopes and NQ mirage!!

So I shoot with a fixed 12 power scope and am saving for a new scope slowly...My question is for those who shoot up here in Nth QLD or other places with heavy mirage how are you guys using scopes such as the nightforce comp, high power march scopes etc. I realise you can dial down the power but what...

Re: Help with ladder test results

Thanks rebel 105 for the feedback. Bob thanks for your feedback also. I haven't noticed the change in group size it did shift my zero up from memory. It may very well be that my equipment and my shooting abilities are too poor and are mixed in with noise but I haven't noticed such a large change in ...

Help with ladder test results

IMG_2039.JPG IMG_2038.JPG Was hoping to get some thoughts on these 2 ladder tests I did today. Rifle is a 6.5x47l 26 inch barrel, 12 power scope atlas bi pod and rear squeeze bag at 350m. Powder was reloder 16, 2 bullets tested were 139 scenars and 130 berger vld. Wind was from 3:30-4:00 average 5m...

Left to right 123 scenar, 139 scenar, 130 berger vld, 140 copperhead vld.

The 140 copperhead is more similar in shape to the lapua scenar than the Berger 130vld it has a notciably smaller boat tail than the other bullets.

Re: Ken from Copper head

I have a supply of 139 scenars and some 123 scenars which shoot well for me out of my 6.5x47l. I have no real reason to try different except that I like to tinker with stuff. Have loads worked up for both with 2208 and 2209 I also have a bunch loaded now with some reloder 16 to try next time I can g...

Ken from Copper head

just wanted to put a shout out to Ken from copper head. With the shortage of match bullets aus wide and seeing only bits and pieces mentioned about copper head here I thought Id send Ken an email. Was asking about the 6.5 140VLD and some measurements to see how they would go in my freebore. Instead ...

Re: a funny advertisement

Bruce I'm one of those boneheads who shoots a gong. I will be the first to admit that I'm no F class shooter and my accuracy standards would be much less than f class. I do enjoy trying to get the best accuracy I can out of my humble system though. The reason for me shooting gongs is I shoot alone o...

Using CLR to clean barrels

Anyone here tried it? Seems to be becoming popular in the US with good reports?
