TIKKA BOLT

Hello,
Is there any reason why I can't shoot a tikka with the ejector plunger removed so that it does not throw the brass on extraction.
Thanks

Re: NECK SIZING

What sort of rifle is it? Tikka 243 or 308 or similar? I don't think its rifle related, seldom is if reloading yourself. In regards to the ring around the case head. Get a paper clip and straighten it out with a small hook at one end. Run this hook down the side of the case till you hit the bottom....

Re: NECK SIZING

How many times have you fired your brass? A FL bushing die is the way to go. And you removed the ejector pin? If you don't have a headspace gauge your just guessing as to how much bump your giving. The bolt feel method does not always work. I tried it once and way way over bumped the shoulder on th...

Re: NECK SIZING

One possible factor that can make nice fitting cases vary in feel when feeding them loaded into a rifle is the depth of a primer insertion. If you are running very neat fitting cases, just a minute difference in primer insertion can make a big difference to feel when shooting. This can be checked b...

Re: NECK SIZING

Still having no luck, Some of my reloads chamber with no resistance on the bolt with out even being resized. Other rounds will not chamber after resizing. The rounds that wont chamber were used in a ladder test and have some pressure sighns. Im thinking I might need a f/l sizer does this sound right...

Re: NECK SIZING

Thanks Trevor,
That sounds like a good idea I will give that a try. I think I will order hornady headspace gauge kit to measure the shoulder as well.

Re: WHICH MOUNTS

Thanks for the replies. Do a lot of people remove their scopes and do they go back on without needing to re-zeroing.

6.5x47 FIRE FORMING

Hello, I have just brought 100 new brass for my 6.5x47 and was wondering if there is any load development that can be done with new brass or is it a waste of time due to the brass not been fire formed. After the first fire I will be neck sizing only. Also is there anything you do with new brass befo...
