Re: Copperhead projectile approval?

"the nraa's cut" the bullet tax. rumour has it that there is discussion at high levels to limit fopen and ftr bullets, so a similar tax can be put in place. argument being that fstd and tr is shouldering an unfair financial burden compared to ftr and fopen. bruce. I hope that is just a ru...

Re: Copperhead projectile approval?

Alan To get the ball rolling you would need a State Association to put it to the board for approval. I would suggest asking Ken if he could handle supply first thou. Matt P Thanks Matt, asking Ken would be a first priority, if there was to be a follow on that members would benefit having his projec...

Re: Reversing a Barrel when Rechambering

That's the thing Alan the barrels bore diameter will have a taper, and if you chamber it from the other end the muzzle will be larger... (This taper will be exaggerated as the barrel is a 260 Ackley and 600 rnds old and will have worn..)

Re: Carbon cleaning methods curious after borescoping club barrels

AlanF I leave both Hoppes no9 or no9 benchrest in barrels for storage and will leave it in for months, but I always keep them wet and don't allow them to dry up.... I have never seen any evidence of damage.. Saying that I'll foam up and leave sweets in a barrel over night and push it out in the morn...

Re: KEEP ME IN TUNE

wsftr, Basically you can never over clean a barrel in my opinion, if you condition your barrel before firing that first shot.. By conditioning i mean creating an environment in your clean barrel that replicates a barrel that's settled.. (Settled doesn't mean "dirty" your barrel has now act...

David,

Thanks for the information above much appreciated. My thought process has now changed in regards to your diagrams, knowing a few more details.
I would be assuming the rifle was sitting in a V Block?
Your tribal comment is too true  .

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

So if we think about it, the speed of the bullet less important than the speed of the vibrations. Point two of a grain of powder extra, won't change bullet speed much, but it has a big impact on vibration speed as do small tuner movements. The above quote is exact reasoning why i dont take any noti...
