Re: New Sporter/Hunter Class...is your club promoting it?

...Question so why have rules for something that is non competitive ? As stated in rule 23.2 "The prime purpose for its introduction is to encourage participation, rather than competition...", but that doesn't mean it can't have a competition format. This is a sensible approach in my opin...

Re: 6mm 115gr DTACs for sale

Andrew, what is the minimum twist required to run these? Albert, Cartridge pending but, 7.5 twist would be my minimum... Each to there own but an 8 twist is very marginal with dtacs and i wouldn't recommend it.. Any of the 8 twist barrels getting good results id be sceptical of the barrels twist va...

Re: Hornady A tip Bullets

could it be that the Hornady marketing team learned some on how to charge extra with the heat shield tip, and carried it to a even greater heights with the aluminium a tip :?:   . strange that the aluminium tip in the old amax was dropped because plastic ones were better, according to ...

Re: Hornady A tip Bullets

Hornady did an aluminum tipped bullet about 16 years ago, they were a very ordinary bullet at the time..
(Dont quote me, but i think it was the first A-MAX that had an aluminum tip...) Hornady then went to plastic tips..
Hopefully with new technology they will have improved...

Re: VRA lead up and Queens.

Trevor, Great to see the VRA queens allowing blow off shots this year =D> ....... Re: interesting barrel run in

I know what the lead and throat is Bruce... I didnt explain that well, at all.. Im unfamiliar with tool marks in the lead/throat and the freebore measurement shifting during breaking in process.. Both are related to one another, and im aware that others experience this. My point is that it should no...

Re: interesting barrel run in

- tool marks in the lead/throat? (Polish a seated bullet in 000 steel wool... there should be no interference in the lead/throat...) - throat/freebore measurement increasing during the break in process? Both of the above should not happen.... Im very particular about breaking in barrels, but i dont ...

Re: Pussy pads otherwise known as recoil absorbers

I wouldnt put a 13 year old behind either of those cartridges, recoil/noise will frighten them, and a flinch will develop.. My suggestion is build something like a 223 or 6br in a heavy build.. The more comfortable they feel behind the rifle the more enjoyable, this will allow them to focus more on...
