Re: Junior shooters new rig

Yeah my plan is to run Berger 108gr BT, I think they are very forgiving projectiles.. Looking at all those cartridges they are all very similar, id be looking specifically at brass quality and availability before making a decision... (Im glad I got my norma XC brass when I did) The Dasher is a rippe...

Re: Junior shooters new rig

Ben,

I went with the XC, over the dasher mainly to eliminate fireforming of brass.. I dont think there is any trade off between the two cartridges if anything the XC should give him "marginally" better ballistics.. (Nut driving it still has to do his part )

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

If we have to create a class for new shooters to use our ranges. Then maybe two classes are needed? Factory Hunter class (up to 4kg) TR scoring rings Tactical/varmint class (up to 8kg) Fclass scoring rings Both classes use: - magazines - muzzle brakes - bipod and rear bag (minimise coarse of fire in...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Look what " development " did to FS --removed it far from what it was originally intended to be, to a stage where an FS rifle with bipod is now heavier that an FO rifle --ridiculous. Ridiculous you say....... What would the sport look like today without Fstd??? I find it hard to believe s...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Trev, 8kg allows for development within the class, long range shooters want the best out of their equipment.. These shooters are building 7 to 8kg braked rifles to shoot long range.. Because their 4.5kg outfit doesn't cut it... Ask the gunsmiths what's being built for these guys... Also 8kg is a goo...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Give this a thought, Our brand is long range target shooting, we are trying to create a class which we don't have that attracts shooters.. You only need the one class like Fsd with two grades(Varmint/Tactical class).. Most Varmint/tactical rifles are similar in ballistics put a weight limit of 8kg t...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

or it might actually need to aim for those already striving for longer range accuracy. Its not an easy call for George to make. Those already striving for longer range accuracy are building 7-8kg + rifles, most outside our range energy limits and generally have a muzzle brake fitted.. Maybe the big...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Tactical/varmint class is a good idea, magazine use and bipod etc... Just dont be narrow minded and think these rifles are not capable of shooting on fclass scoring rings.. I do believe a division is needed, two grades, possibly A grade on fclass rings B grade on TR rings Just a thought, Cheers Alan

Dropped into our new local gun store yesterday, they were having their grand opening.... There was a spit roast and BBQ stall out the front welcoming their customers... This also happened to be on Cod opening weekend so there were plenty of fishermen passing through the doors getting bait and tackle...

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

Steve, The top two cases went bang... The bottom two is the result of trying to rely on neck tension and a jammed bullet to hold the case against the bolt face while fireforming to a dasher. This is a headspace issue ONLY.. This would not be an issue if he created a false shoulder in the neck, befor...
