Re: But it does have a Stolle F-Class Action

The rules are as long as you can carry it to the bench, I can lay up rounds as fast as I can load it.

Re: But it does have a Stolle F-Class Action

It's a 7mm Rem Mag, shooting 180gr Berger Hybrids at a comfortable 2950 fps, Broughton 30" x 2" 9 twist barrel, .310" neck, weight ...... 52lbs, less recoil than a 22 rimfire. Its debut is on Saturday at the 500M Fly.

Re: Vic Police Rifle Club OPM 2017

Thank you gentlemen for those that Pm'd your advice on choosing between the 280, 280AI & 284/Shehane, as this is a simply chamber change by just reaming the current chamber (has only 250 rounds on it) I have decided to go 280AI, gunsmith will also make the dies. Will also add a tuner to the 30&q...

Re: Vic Police Rifle Club OPM 2017

Hi Graham, I am in the process of revamping one of my 17lb comp rifles but keeping it at 7mm, the single bolt action allows me a choice of 280, 280ai or 284, I have experience with the 7-08ai but at Belmont the 180 grainers fair better and the 7.08ai is under powered for that task at the 500m & ...

Re: Seeking Experience loading 143gn ELD-x & 147gn ELD-M in .260Rem

I have just finished testing the 162gn ELD-M 7mm, I loaded .010" & .005" jammed, .000" touch, thru to .005", .010", .015", .020", .025" .030" jumped and was surprised that a light .000" touch shot one hole groups at 100 yards. The group slowly st...

Re: Sub 7mm choice

Hi AlanF, the electronic target system for the 1000 yards comp measures bullet velocity on impact, also the standard 6.6x47 Lap showed a impact velocity of around 1420 FPS. I know my muzzle velocity as I have tested my rifle as I own a chrony. But you are right as the above target on checking is fro...

Re: Sub 7mm choice

Try a 6.5x47 Lap Imp, case holds around 2 grains more powder which means that a high load of 2208 still leaves air in the case when shooting 140gr Berger VLD's. With a 28" barrel your close to 2900 FPS, at 1000 yard your hitting the target at over 1730 FPS still, Lap cases with SF primers and s...

Re: F-Open Calibre Poll - Short Range

No mention of a 6.5x47 Lap Imp, hold 2 more grains of 2208, runs a 140 gr VLD at target impact at a 1000 yard of 1600fps from a 28" barrel and good case life?

Re: Effects of changing neck tension

.003" clearance is ok, but I would change to BR4 primers, 46.1gr of powder is not a lot and the BR4 will give you better SD. I run the same case fire-formed to 7-08ai with 48 grs of 2209 and changing to BR4's gave me better groups.
