Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

Thanks Audax, however I won't be putting my hope in a potential measurement error.... At the end of the day, whether we agree with them or not, rules exsist for a reason and I'll be keeping a long way from the limit.

Or simply fit a 308 extractor claw to the magnum bolt

Is that all it takes to change them ?

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

Unfortunately until these range energy restrictions are enforced, some members will continue to shoot outside these range restrictions.. It would be good to see a Labradar come out at shoots Great idea. Where can one get a certified Labradar? Now now.... let's not hijack this thread [-X [-o< :D

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

 Adhering to energy limits = adhering road speed limits.... you ignore them at your own peril.... There has been some good advise so thank you. @rod, have a new barrel for Trentham so only done 50odd rounds and still working a load. Have other barrels I can chop and chamber if needed. Albert

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

Rob,

I was thinking a .22 LR would be more suited to Trentham, especially for 1000yds ;-)

RSAUM with Energy restrictions

Hi all, I've had many conversations recently about shooting a SAUM where limitations on muzzle energy becomes a bit of a concern, or certainly leading to uncharged territory. I will be shooting on a range next year that has a 4500 Joule limit, meaning that a 180 Berger cannot be driven more than rou...

You are welcome Gippsland.

Geoff,

I have to echo the thoughts... it was probably the best manual marking I have seen... I have a nice whisky for you when we next meet.

Re: 7mm rsaum questions

Rod,

This was really good advise and worked a charm. I was a little apprehensive when pushing the bushing down unsupported but a dial guage on the arbour press helped to keep think rather consistent.

Re: 7mm rsaum questions

Albert, I have a .284 blank die to run your reamer into to make a resizing die if you want. Geoff Geoff, this would be ideal but I unfortunately do not have my own reamer, nor do I have the specs.... so this won't help short term... This is confirmation that I need to get one and be closer to the d...

Re: 7mm rsaum questions

I have adjusted my redding bushing fl die further down to really bump the shoulders right back a fair bit, turn, then loaded and go. Four firings on them so far and no sign of problems Brad, when I've done this I had to bump the shoulder min 6thou.. needless to say they were terrible on first firin...

Re: 7mm rsaum questions

Apologies for dragging an old topic back but didn't want to create another... Question: what are people using to next down from 300 SAUM to 7mm. I used my Redding bushing die that does not go all the way to the shoulder junction. As a result I have turned too much at the unsized portion and now have...
