Re: Sighting Problems

Before I had my cataracts removed I had a special set of glasses made. Shooting eye prescription to suit sighting in that side, and a normal prescription in the other to see downrange. Worked well, and was easy to shoot with both eyes open. Hope this helps.

Trevor.

Re: New to bench rest shooting

Hi Ben,
The 1000 yd. and 600yd B/R. are not shot every weekend. Down the calendar from the TMRC. site and you will see when we shoot. Terry can certainly give you pointers on long range shooting. The B/R. side is a little different. Hope to see you one Saturday.

Trevor.

Re: New to bench rest shooting

Hi Ben,
Come out to the TMRC range Saturday morning. We will be shooting 1000yd. B/R. followed by the 600yd. B/R. afterwards. You can pick our brains.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: Federal 210M Primers

Thanks Brett and Barry for the information. I have used heaps of these and this is the first carton I have found this difference. I will now use these, but will not mix them in a loading session. The replies are much appreciated.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Federal 210M Primers

Hi All, I have just finished a carton (1000) of the above. I found a difference in colour of the priming compound. 67 had a yellow compound compared to the normal red compound. I did not load these as I was not sure what they were. I checked one out buy firing off in an empty case and it ignited.. H...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

I agree with Rod. I do not know how or why they work, but my experience with them is that they do. On the history of tuners, the earliest I know of is that Bill Calfee a U.S. based rim fire gunsmith started playing with them in the 1980's. H does not call them tuners but muzzle devices, and bases hi...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

Before I started playing with tuners I found two loads that worked in my 6.5 Rogue. They were 45.6 and 46.8 of 2209 behind 139 Senars. When I decided to try a tuner I decided on the Purdy PRX. system. After making an installing I found that it had a small improvement in groups with both loads. On a ...

Looking at to-day's results, they are not coherent enough to shoot.

Re: Jlk projectiles

Hi Brad,
A couple of years I got some 6.5's from Bob Dyer in Darwin. When I wanted some more last year, he had none, and when I asked when he might have some more he advised not in the foreseeable future. So it looks as if he is not importing anymore. What a bugger.

Trevor.

Re: Can we shoot ssaa disciplines on an nraa range

Hi Brad, We shoot the 600 B/R. at Townsville range which is metric. We measured out the 600yd. and chipped a line in the grass and put our portable benches on this line. You do not need a mound, only the distance. We also painted 2/ 50mm. thick masonry capping tiles white and put 600 on them in blac...

Re: Powder Load

That was the best load from testing for me. Re John's thought on primers, I have found I have better results with C.C.I BR2,but I only use 2209. Only tested wit 2213sc in case a time came when I could not 2209.

Trevor.
