Re: Ogive to base measurement.

Another measurement to watch is base to position seating stem sits on projectile. I have found up to .008 difference. As this position is what controls seating depth, I figure it is important. Especially those who load close to lands. I do not think it is as important if loading with reasonable jump...

Re: Federal 210 GM primers

I found this a year or so ago and mentioned it here. As there was only the odd yellow one I did not use them. Put them in a separate tray, and one day I will load them to use up. As they will all be the same, should not cause any variation shot to shot if the different colors do have an effect. Cheer...

That is a great and interesting looking piece of gear. How is the price looking, and delivery time?
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: Start loads for 6x47 Lapua

In my 6.5 x 47 ,30" 8T. 37.5 of 2208 behind 130 Berger V.L.D. works well. velocity unknown as I am not worried to much about velocity.
It is results on paper that matters.

Re: Can case volume be inferred by its weight ?

To what extent does these small variations in case volume have on muzzle velocity? Can the best of our shooters read the total range conditions for every shot in the competition to the extent, that a few f.p.s. difference in velocity affects their score. I personally do not think so. But I may be wr...

Re: Recently discovered

I had a gain twist in a .22R/F bench gun. Could not get it to shoot. Ditched it after around 1500 rounds and went back to conventional. It now seems as if ratchet barrels are the new fad in R/F. bench rest. Not for me, my conventional Maddco is shooting better than me.
Keep safe.

Re: ES / SD reduction strategies

Hi Chris,
All my rifles are cleaned as soon as I can after shooting. I like to clean them while hot as they clean up quicker.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: ES / SD reduction strategies

Many years ago moly was the rage in short range B/R. It no longer is. The reason for this was in a Precision Shooter magazine quite awhile before it went out of publication. As you know most short range B/R shooters clean after each detail, 7 or 8 shots. They found that the moly build up was not con...

Re: Ultra Sonic Cleaners vs Case Tumblers

Case cleaning is another job not needed. Shiney cases do not shoot any better than dull ones. Brush inside neck, clean primer pockets and flash holes, and a wipe with a rag is all that is needed.

Nightforce scope

My 8-32 B/R. scope developed a small problem after having it for 19 years. Sent it away to Sth. Aust. to be rectified. It arrived back to-day fixed. Parallex problem solved and report said all internals good and still well within factory specs. Only cost postage to Sth. Aust. Why would anyone buy an...

Re: Ammo storage in the tropics

I have lived in Cairns since 1942. Been shooting since I was about 15. Started target shooting 1993. I store my powder, primers and loaded ammo in a locked timber cupboard in my gun room. Have had loaded ammo stored for about 5 years and have had no problems. Keeping firearms wiped with a lanolin im...

Re: 284 Win Tikka F Open Build

He is not on the forum. I know C.R.M. did the barrel fit ect.. because he borrowed my reamer for them to use. If I see him to-morrow I will ask for more info.
Cheers,
Trevor.
