Re: Reloader 16 & 23?

Burn rate is similar to 2213SC so consider a load around that.

Re: Reloader 16 & 23?

I don't shoot a 284 but I shoot a 280AI and RL23 is my powder of choice. It is providing very good accuracy at 2815fps with no pressure and is very easy on brass. There's also a node at 2940 so I can run it at SAUM speeds and this node may be handy at the longs. I'm not convinced RL23 will give you ...

Re: WTB: Trigger to suit rem700

I have a spare Timney trigger with minimal use sitting around doing nothing - left hand top safety though.

Precision Varminting - Beau is bringing it in. Didn't have a whole lot of 6XC brass in his first shipment (1000 pieces only for 6XC but 5000 6.5 Creedmore), it's also the most expensive brass at $250 per 100.

Re: Alpha munitions brass

I have received 200 of the 6XC brass. It's heavier than Norma and I presume slightly less capacity but haven't measured. Haven't had a chance to test it properly yet but 38gr of RL16 was safe in my rifle. Headspacing slightly longer than Norma out of the box but no issue with chambering in a standar...

Re: Best 6mm pills

What about the new Sierra 107’s with the uniformed tips?? How do they compare BC wise and tuning compared to the Berger 105 Hybrid. I am happy with the hybrid and have 1400 on the shelf at the moment however looking for other alternatives to use in a club shoot or practise and keep the Berger’s for...

Re: Best 6mm pills

Yes, sadly we are still waiting for Berger 108's. Down to my last 200. I am getting Lapua Scenar L's next week to try in my new Dasher barrel. Anyone had any success with these? I really like these in 180gn in my 7mm. Yeah I bought a couple of thousand - BC isn't the best but they're consistent and...

Re: ACT Queens

Called in to say hello to a couple of club members who are shooting and there were plenty of shooters dropping the odd point here and there with the wind drop offs which seemed hard to read. Conditions are forecast to be more difficult tomorrow so best of luck to everyone competing.

Re: Best 6mm pills

One of the easiest bullets to get working well is the Berger 108gr BT - Only problem is there is no stock in Australia at the moment. 105gr berger hybrids and VLDs are also very popular but again, they don't last long when in stock. Couldn't get the Copperheads to work in my 6mm rifle but plenty of ...

Re: High power scopes and NQ mirage!!

I'd rather have the extra magnification available and not need it, than need it and not have it. I can only imagine how bad the mirage is up north, but if you get the occasional overcast day and the mirage disappears, you'll enjoy the extra magnification for sure.

Re: New Barrel

All well and good but what would happen if it was a dud, would you expect a warranty? Nope. The only barrel manufacturer that springs to mind that offers a guarantee of sorts is Benchmark barrels. I haven't had a dud barrel yet, and only one of my friends springs to mind that really had a shocking ...

Re: New Barrel

Didn't bother with any particular procedure for my last barrel which went on a 6BRA. Put 25 rounds down the tube whilst fireforming, went home and gave it a good scrub. To this date it's probably been the best barrel I've had. All well and good but what would happen if it was a dud, would you expec...
