Re: Loads for 185 Grain Projectiles

It all depends on the individual rifle, with Winchester cases,46.5 grains of 2208,or 45.5 grains of 2206H and 185 Hybrids or Juggernauts, this isn‘t a recommendation,it is what I used at the time.

Switching barrels during a comp is something I’ve been practicing. And I still need more practicing . It did cost me a opm just recently. But you will never g...

Re: Cleaning after firing lead projectiles

Hoppes is fine,as far as I know there is nothing we should be using that dissolves lead in barrels,if in the unlikely event you got some leading solvent and a tight patch should push it out,a firm patch and JB paste will grab onto any lead also. For serious cases of leading, ooo or oooo steel wool on ...

Re: VRA Prize meeting

The 3 x 1000 at Bendigo today was a great shoot. A lot of fun in testing conditions but surprising to me not a really big field. Looking forward to tomorrow. Not surprising to me,when it comes to 1,000 yards and further, the commitment seems to ease off, hope tomorrow gets a larger field.A pleasing t...

Re: VRA Match Rifle and Long Range Championships

Cliff Austen won the F Open,Mick Punterjero won the FTR with Marty Kelly second.Match Rifle Open was won by Paul Monaghan,Shane Courtney second,I was in the bottom end of the FTR.Saturday was cold, today a bit warmer, wind was tricky as usual, overall a good event as they always are at Stawell.

Re: Varying powder charge summer/winter?

Would velocity variation due to temp also be related to to the expansion of the barrel steel? I'm guessing the barrel would get smaller as the barrel steel would expand internally and externally? Which may contribute more to velocity than the actual temp of the bullets???? Just a thought I always t...

Re: Rifle weighing scales.

At the risk, probably a great risk,of appearing to be difficult, could I ask regarding calibrating scales,by who,how and where and is the calibrated weight absolute,or is there a tolerance?
