Re: Seb PodPad

Seems a no-brainer to me that a plate/board with some carpet or other uniform fabric on top will be more consistent than a Podpad ! Especially for free recoil as u say Chris. Go with a steel plate I reckon to gain a higher inertia value than a board gives. Why ? Because ya DON'T want the board or p...

Re: Seb PodPad

Others may chip in, but IMO if you like me dont hold the rifle the pod pad will likely give elevation shots. I have tried a few times and as the top of the pad is not flat and a small groove is made if the feet are slightly on the rise of the groove then when shot is fired the gun sits down into th...

Re: NQRA Queens

Alan, Northern Territory RA are not providing F-Class badges at Darwin and also Alice springs. All on Kongsbergs. This doesn't worry me, I'm going, but thought some on this forum who are intending to go should know the conditions of entry. Sorry to ambush this post. Then people need to vote with th...

Re: Wanted Barnard Action or barrelled action - 223 or 308

My advice for what it is worth is get a .308. Missus was a steadfast .223 shooter as she said she did not like the recoil but went to .308 for team shoots, now she shoots 215's and the .223 has not been used in years (bolt and barrel).. The the tinkering becomes more than tinkering you will end up g...

Re: LAPUA 308 BRASS

Brass should not arrive like that. That said I prep all brass before firing, resizing with Lee collet die which has a mandrel that the outer collet sizes onto which fixes most neck dent issues. Next I trim etc so unless damage is serious most dented necks end up perfect.

Re: WTB - LH F Class rig

Left hander shooting right hander action you can see the port and see putting the round in. You can also see removing the case and see the bolt. Right hander with right handed action or even lefty and left handed action you cant see the port and you cant see to load or remove the case and the bolt i...

I am lest handed and I agree, cant understand why right handers dont shoot left handed actions!

Re: "Cheaper" optics - are they suitable?

I have a fleet of sightrons All have been trouble free, perform well and of course suit my budget. I have had the option of going Nightforce br and have not been converted. I don’t believe they are any better I conducted a test one day and believe me there is a big difference. I was sending a Night...

Re: "Cheaper" optics - are they suitable?

I have been using a Sightron 8*32*56 for a couple of years now and it is a brilliant scope, would strongly recommend. Sightron are a lot cheaper than Nightforce and equivalent in quality. Hmm no.. I had two and sold them they are quite reliable but optics dont come close to Nightforce not even near...

If you buy cheap you WILL buy what you should have bought in the first place very soon after.

Re: Accurate Shooter Forum

Bit annoyed with accurate shooter forum anyway, I have a VPN for abroad TV and it was on when I joined (I forgot). Then banned me before I posted a single post ages ago because of the VPN. I emailed the mod and explained and I got a sorry cant help response. An honest mistake but they would not even...

Re: Carbon donut

I would clean the rifle make rounds for a shoot and remove firing pin and chamber every round. Then do your shoot and see what happens. No way is that carbon causing those marks on the projectile.

Re: Carbon donut

Do you have an ogive to base measuring tool? If not get one. I measure every round I make/ Also a carbon ring wont stop you chambering a round have you trimmer your brass recently for example something else is going on it is not the carbon.

Re: Carbon donut

personal preference but i always found 2208 dirty and 2206H a lot cleaner in my rifle I can shoot 200 rounds or more with 08 and have no issues. If this issue is happening it is not powder it is something else. resizing, loading or the armourer at fault no way can a carbon ring cause issues that qu...
