Re: Sierra 110g SMK in 6mm

Hi Dave, Re the Copperhead Bullets 6mm 112 grain VLD Bullets, the 1:8 twist barrel would be marginal, they have shot great in 1:7.5 twist barrels, just sent some to a PRS shooter in the US to test and has given some good feedback “shot great measured very consistent” What is the length of these pil...

Re: You don't need a scope to get a good score

Wow. I remember watching James Corbett shoot a 50-10 with 7 Xs to beat all of F Open at that range, but getting 10Xs is an awesome job.

Re: NSW F-Class Association Match

Those who want to really live it up can go for the big city lights of West Wyalong which has plenty of accommodation available. It is an easy 20-30 minute drive to the range from West Wyalong if you don't get caught in rush hour traffic.

Re: nswra queens 2018

Can we expect to see the same vigor in regard to the S.A. Queens & the long established (since at least 2003) NSW Match Rifle & Long Range F-Class Championship, which now clash since SARA moved the Queens from October to May? Tim. :D[/quote] Hmmm, I was intending to attend the S.A Queens an...

I certainly hope someone changes dates, these are both the shoots I was looking most forward to this year.

Re: NSW F-Class Association Match

So im reading it as there will be individual string or bisley style? When does the decision get made? From what I’ve heard with the interest shown so far it is most likely it will now all be Bisley style. For the life of me I do not understand why!!! This is Australia not Bisley or Canada or anywhe...

Re: NSW F-Class Association Match

• Match will cater for Bisley Pairs and individual shooters as well. Dennis, won't this dilute the numbers in the Bisley competition? I'm keen on the shoot if it is Bisley Pairs. If it was simply a long range shoot over 2 days, then I'd probably just stay in my home state as it is an 8 hour trip ea...

Re: NSW F-Class Association Match

Great to hear someone has finally organised a Bisley long range event. How about some Victorians and QLDers making the trip to Ungarie?

Re: RECOIL and THE BLOEMING CASE

What about some 'evolution' in the F Open rifle stock, especially if you're dealing with heavy recoil ? Me thinks that may be a rich vein worth exploring ! I don't mean the 'American way' with a stunning paint job and multiple clear coats. Just a design with function first ? This is what more peopl...

Re: Looking for feedback

This is the sort of match we need more of, but as other mentioned, I would prefer the 20 shot matches to be Bisley style. I have temperature stickers on a lot of my barrels and I cant quantify the extra throat erosion accurately, but I do know the heat certainly has time to migrate out to the sticke...

Re: Travelling to and from shoots and fatigue

This is a very relevant subject for myself at the moment and something I see the results of more than most. Where I live and work (in mines, with long hours, nightshifts and long boring drives on straight "safe" country roads in modern cars) falling asleep at the wheel seems to be the bigg...

Re: Quickload 2209 vs H4350

They are exactly the same powders and either bottles will even share batch numbers (ie, the powder in the bottle if from the same batch). The difference in Quickload will be the normal differences in burn rates between batches. It is likely that with one bottle they had a very fast batch but with th...

Re: 6 mm Dasher

Interesting Frank, most dashers I know of use around 36gr h4350, 33gr varget and 31.5 or thereabouts of h4985 all for around 3000fps. As I do, but I wonder what the actual pressure is that we are running at? I would say it is likely that we are lucky we are using strong brass in strong actions. I d...
