Re: Ftr stock what’s the best.

If you are a right handed shooter go for a left hand bolt and left hand feed. In F Class shooting this is the best ergonomics. Good Luck. Cheers Cliff. Why do you make this suggestion Cliff? I'm a newbie to the sport so interested to learn. If you are lying behind your rifle with the butt into the ...

Craig, when are you going to give us a rundown on the 5 days of competition. And more importantly, the social activities on the range?

Re: Copperhead 7mm 183-4 bullets

Have only fired a handful through a straight 284 to obtain some chronograph data, literally about 20 They have a very short bearing surface and require quite a bit less throat length than Berger 180VLD's i usually use in this barrel. They need a good extra 1.5gr of powder to achieve same velocity a...

Re: New Sporter/Hunter Class...is your club promoting it?

It all looks good to me and I like the idea of what they propose. My club would never allow muzzle brakes or magazines to be used, but hopefully there are plenty more progressive clubs who will.

Re: A year on and 1 becomes 2

not very often you see two lefty`s together...nice to see ...and two nice rifles.. Thanks for the compliment and they are both shot right handed  I noticed that you were shooting a left bolt rifle right handed at Vic Queens. I knew I recognised the rifles from somewhere. I also noticed your w...

What were people shooting?

There were a few using SAUMs at the longs, but also a few 284s doing well. In the short/mid ranges, there were the usual 6 Dashers doing well and some other usual 6 and 6.5s.

Re: VRA Queen series.

Congratulations Rod Davies, Frans Knox, Dave Phipps and James Corbett in your 2019 VRA Queens win. Looks like the wind gods threw everyone a wobbly for the last 1000. So close to a clean sheet Rod. Where’d you lose them? Congratulations also to grand Agg winners too. Well, what a great 5 days of co...

Re: Just starting out

No worries thanks. Do you know who it was doing them tikka actions and grs stocks? Or do you think a savage model 12 f class in 308 would be a good place to start? I think it was CRM Gun Sports in Cairns was building the Tikka actioned GRS stocked F Class rifles. If you ring them, Shane Green is an...

What about the Ozscore targets made by Geoff Roberts in Australia? What sort of prices are they for a single set up? You might end up saving quite a bit of shipping and have local support?

F class shooter Julian Daley just became Australian A grade trap champion as a newbie

I just heard through the grape vine that Julian Daley has just won the Australian A grade trap championships as a newbie. Julian had only recently bought a shotgun and taken up trap shooting for a bit of fun until the Mackay F class range reopens. Understandably, Julian was a bit too busy to chat wh...

Re: VRA lead up and Queens.

This is not intended to be one-up-manship but when I was a young lad I shot Rosedale with 33 right wind on. I only have 40 MOA total of winda, I would be having to sight of the edge of the target [-o< I hope you are right as we are now entered, paid for and accommodation booked so just need...

Re: Best binoculars for scoring? (Edit: Now Scope)

If you are going to Vic Queens, I can bring a $2500 top of the line Ziess binoculars, or a $400 Chinese spotting scope and tripod for you to use and you can see which you prefer. If you are scoring for me though, I would rather you use the cheap spotting scope and tripod. If you are after a spotting...

bruce.

I am not sure yet as I hope to receive my Copperheads soon. Their bearing surface is a little shorter than the Berger 180 VLDs and Hybrids.
