Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Thanks Gyro. Clearly, this guy had no budget, yet he chose a Sightron SIII. OK, it may have been chosen because it had the required elevation range, but surely some of the very expensive scopes mentioned on this topic offer similar in 24-power? The SIII was my intended, but maybe I should look again...

Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Hello All.

Unless someone screams "don't do it!", my next buy will be the Sightron.

John T.

Re: FCWC 2021

Bruce.

I take it that you have had a whisper in your shell-like that there is an item on the Agenda for the next meeting of the NRAA Board.

Regards.
John.

Re: FCWC 2021

Hello. It seems that Ireland (ROI) is now in the mix. Joe tells us that ROI made a bid in 2017 to host in 2025. Cheeky! No "rotation" in their eyes. (Pity we have not been kept informed by our own representatives.) Once Australia is an official contender, there will be six countries vying ...

Re: FCWC 2021

Hello. To date, the informal rotation governing the hosting of FCWC has been; 1. 2002 Canada 2. 2005 South Africa 3. 2009 Great Britain 4. 2013 USA 1. 2017 Canada 2. 2021 South Africa (Confirmed) 3. 2025 Great Britain (Confirmed?) 4. 2029 USA (TBC) At the 2013 Meeting (Raton) of the ICFRA F Class Co...

Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Here are two Sightron articles. Tracking test. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2008/06/sightron-siii-8-32x56-scope-test-part-ii/ ExacTrack review (Info-ad?) http://www.scopesguide.com/exactrack-by-sightron.shtml Yes, you could have bought a new Magna when they were written, but we hope the knowl...

Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

When I opened this topic, I said that my priority in an F Open scope was that it had to handle high level "abuse". It had to be "rugged, reliable, repeatable". Those with knowledge, have translated this to mean "tracking". I will call it "RRT": Reliable Repeat...

Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Hello all. This topic is, and needs to remain, a topic about informing F Class Open shooters about scope options. I say Open shooters because Open calibres are likely to impose more "abuse" on the scope than F/TR. All opinions are biased. Let's give the punters credit that they can weigh t...

Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Hello all. Is it fair to say that there has been no real challenge to the Nightforce Competition 15-55x52? I think so. Before we close the book, it may be worth looking (again) at some other particular scopes. After applying two basic requirements; zoom magnification of 50 power or more, and click v...

Re: BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Matt. I expected responses such as yours. It is one reason why I mentioned only Peter Smith, a man of impeccable knowledge and independence. I deliberately did not mention Dave McNamara and Rod Davies who might feel constrained by relationships. But this is a forum. A place to express and to conside...

BEST SCOPE FOR F OPEN

Hello All. This is a topic which is renewable every few years. I have been prompted to do so now by the glowing praise of the Night-Force Competition 15 - 55 x 52, given by participants at the 2017 FCWC. The N-F motto impresses me, "rugged, reliable, repeatable". This is my priority in an ...

Re: F-Class World Championships 2017

Dear Larry, not for a moment, can we believe that this article reflects your views on the 2017 FCWC. It is dishonourable that a man of your stature be left to clean up the mess. The article reads more like a Mid Tompkins dump. Even Derek Rodgers looks embarrassed by this white-wash. As for the photo...
