Re: Rifle weighing scales.

Peter, As CRO of Victoria, perhaps you could persuade the VRA to invest in some certified weights. This would allow shooters to bring their own scales (or personal weights) to Bendigo to check them. I would want to hope all of the state associations have certified scales and appropriate check weigh...

Re: Rifle weighing scales.

I use commercial shop scales. You can pick these up at auctions from closing down fruit & veg/butchers/supermarkets/delis. If you buy one of these and invest in a check weight you'll have it for life and never need worry again.

Re: Loan of a flex pod

Tim, I think shooting off a flex-pod is a great idea and you should definitely use one if you are going to get serious about FTR. They are all the rage here is SA. You obviously noticed we were all using them at the Queens you attended. :)

Re: Copperhead projectile approval?

I'd be more than happy to buy Copperhead projectiles, but in order for me to do that I would need to get a reply from the business that sells them. Twice contacted, zero replies. I asked for a couple of trial packs earlier in the week. Got an email yesterday confirming, just waiting for account det...

Re: brownells aust

I don't blame them for anything that happens outside of their control, but not carrying stock and just pocketing the money from your customers before ordering stock from the states is poor form.

Re: brownells aust

I agree Bruce. I waited nearly a month for an order. I'd rather buy direct from the states like before.

Re: WTB Sako A1

Can I ask Tim, what is the purpose of building that if you already own a 204 that shoots so well? Don't get me wrong, I like weird for weirds sake, but you aren't really getting anything that you haven't already got.

Re: WTB Sako A1

I have my eye on the 224 Valkyrie and the 22 Nosler. I know Jerome Zeirsch has a reamer for a 20 Nosler which might fit the bill. It's like a 284 scaled down. If you have a 204, why not build something different? Like a 17-222. I have a 6.5 Grendel coming for smacking kangaroos with 85gr Sierras and...

Re: WTB Sako A1

Keith what is a 20HI? Is it similar to a 20 Practical? I had dreams of building a fast twist 222 Rem Mag for 53gr Vmax pills on one of mine, but the action is just a wee bit short.

Mine is chambered in 20VT and is the tits. Got one of Maddco's triggers for it too. Exceptional spotlighting rig. Does he have any more he wants to part with?

Re: WTB Sako A1

I only have L461s. Can't beat them for short action cartridges. A1's seem to be few and far between. The guys as J&A Shooting in Horsham may be worth a call. They tend to turn up that sort of thing.
