Re: 223 questions

I also like JLK projectiles. That are very consistent and the 180LBT in 30cal is great. Will be sad when mine run out as there are near impossible to source now.

Re: 2209 in 280 Ackley

I know of people using 2217 in the 280AI which I suspect is too slow for the case. I always thought that 2213SC would be the optimum powder in that case giving reasonable case density, pressure and adequate velocity. 2209 I suspect is probably a touch too fast and might peak pressures rather quickly...

Re: SARA Queens Series

Big congrats to all the winners. Very close in all grades this year. Was a real pleasure being involved. Great weather and saw some great shooting. Thanks to the Victorian ftr boys for taking a lot of lip!

It's not that accurate. You were only shooting at those foxes at 400 yards. :)

Re: to make a fire form barrel or not

I had a hunting gun chambered in dasher and just used to jam and shoot. No split necks, no change in accuracy. Should I chamber an F class gun I won't be using a fire-forming barrel or hydro forming. Whatever works for you, just do that.

If you can still get wild dog stocks the barnard will drop right into it with no bedding.

I don't think that's right. Your bullets must be traveling very slow if you can't get to 800 metres with a BR and 20MOA rail. If I'm reading what you've said right that means you have 70moa total now?

Re: New Sporter/Hunter Class...is your club promoting it?

What does the "finished product" look like? The only thing I've heard about this class is what was written in the email we received from the NRAA the other day.

Re: WTB 260 reamer

Ziersch Custom Rifles have a 260AI Reamer and a straight 260 reamer. He would chamber some barrels for you.

Re: Just starting out

I'd look at a 308 in any rifle that takes your fancy and just shoot it with good reloads or the NRAA ammo. You'll learn a lot more and have some fun. Getting kicked up and down the range by accomplished open shooters is never fun and it can hurt the hip pocket starting in open with limited experienc...

Re: E CLASS. BUDGET F CLASS

This sport, along with any other, is all about how much you want to get out of it. If you want to compete at the top level, its money and sacrifice. We don't need a new class, you just need to give people the right information first up and not blow them out of the water by showing them $5000 rigs an...
