Re: Canberra Queens

Does anybody have any idea why the Canberra Rifle Club website is offline and has been for some time?

Re: F-Class World Championships 2017

Albert, It is not that hard. I can get overseas with rifle and ammo and stay under my 46kg limit. If I choose to go over that limit then prepurchase of excess baggage is not all that expensive and if I use my frequent flier points then it does not hit my budget at all. Peter Due to the amount of sh...

Re: hearing protection

I have a set of Dillon earmuffs that electronically enhance soft sounds and with the volume control they will allow me to hear whatever I need to hear. If there is a gunshot or any sound above 95 DBa they will soften that sound to a safe level. They don't cut out at high noise levels like some other...

Re: Something Needs to be Done

Having just renewed my shooter's licence I can confirm that my reason is target shooting and my evidence is membership of the "GEELONG RIFLE CLUB" not the VRA. Barry is correct.

Re: Flying domestically with a firearm

Bolt separated from firearm but NOT in carry-on. Must be in checked luggage. Need prior permission to carry ammunition from your airline and is a maximum of 5kg Gross individually packed ie. in packaging so that the individual rounds don't touch each other. Ammunition must be in secure checked bagga...

Re: 2 Way Radios

VRA bought 4 Uniden tradie packs on my recommendation. Runs a Queens for me with no problems. Open channel is OK as they are 80 channel and most of the B- doubles don't go above 40. Belt clips are a bit easy to break but overall a great radio.

Re: Question for Acoustics experts/engineers/physicists

Having been involved with extensive noise testing when we built our new range I have a pretty good laymans knowledge of what needs to be considered. The acoustic engineers completely discounted the sonic crack. It is not very loud compared with the muzzle blast and it dissipates very quickly the fur...

Re: Angel Rifle - some info required

My wife and I bought AA500 and AA501 as new rifles. At that stage they were being put together and sold by Andrew Powell who we bought from. Andrew never said that our rifles were the last and I got the impression he had quite a few.

Re: What are we doing wrong?

Alan, We at Geelong find that our sighting-in targets are well-used most weeks. However there are some differences between Rosedale and us. 1. Our 25 metre and 100 metre targets are available every Saturday from 11am to about 5pm. No need to book although it is appreciated. We shoot alongside them. ...
