Re: Rifle weighing scales.

Calibrated by professional weights and scales company at a cost to the VRA. Checked annually before the Queens series. Tolerances (I think +- 1 gram) are listed on the certificate issued which is available on the range for anybody to see.

Re: Rifle weighing scales.

Alan, the VRA has always had a certified set of scales and a trigger weight and these are available for the use of members. They are always with me when I am officiating on the range. I would have thought that most VRA members knew that. Certainly all who attended the VRA are familiar with them. Can...

Re: Rifle weighing scales.

I use the scales at my local butchers. Check first but the advantage is that they are around at 6:00am when nobody else is about. Of course you need to develop a relationship with them but you get to eat much better quality meat that way than by buying at the supermarkets.

Re: The Future

Range accessibility is abysmal. We can’t do much about the geography but it would help if ranges were open. It only takes 2 people, 1 RO and 1 shooter, plus access to the range register. We could learn a lot from the SSAA on that one. Why does an NRAA RO need to know the ins and outs of competition...

Re: Military rifle enthusiasts Queensland

Too be honest all the details are a bit vague. The owner had some age on him and is showing it. I will give him Scott’s details and we will go from there. Apparently he is a member of North Arm. Just don’t wan
t to see them handed in and destroyed.
Thanks to all

Thanks Scott, he doesn’t really want to give them away but he wants a good home for them. I don’t think money is a real issue

Military rifle enthusiasts Queensland

Had an approach from a friend tonight seeking my help. He has two no4 SMLEs as issued (1944 vintage) and a couple of bayonets and some original leather ammo pouches. All legal and registered to him. He wants to get rid of them but would like them to go to somebody or some group that would appreciate...

Re: nraa funding of overseas shooting

There is Government money available for those who are selected in overseas teams but generally you have to apply for it. If shooters (whether TR or F-Class) are going to sit back and wait for the gravy train then they can forget it. Start with contacting your State Sport and Rec department and then ...
