Re: Trigger clean

My Jewell trigger started to not cock so I flushed it with lighter fluid as Jewell recommends. Shook dry, reassembled to action, still failed to hold cock. BLASTED it with WD40, blew out with dry air and all good. To give lighter fluid its due though it probably is effective but in my case obviously...

Re: Omark scope base fit a Nielsen?

Maybe not much help to you but I fitted a 17 MOA Barnard rail to my old Omark. The action diameters Omark to Barnard are not quite the same but the Barnard rail design lends itself to fitting to the Omark at least. I bedded my rail with a Loctite metal filling compound but normal bedding compound eg...

Re: Tobler Actions

wilson85
Any chance of a photo of the action?
I posted a thread back in 2014 asking for help to identify an action belonging to a mate. His action was also similar to an Omark. No one could help at the time.
Unfortunately the photos I posted of it were in Photobucket so have gone.

Re: Tobler Actions

I sill have a Tobler on my old Omark. It has been an excellent barrel. Bought from Dennis many years ago.
Drove thru Robertson a few years ago. Didn't even think to call in.

Re: Barnard action

thx, 6.5x55ai What barrel life are you getting with the 6.5x55ai?? I never got to “burn out” my Ackley barrel as I mothballed it at 800 rounds and switched to a 284W. At that stage accuracy was still excellent with no random fliers yet occurring. The bore scope showed erosion, obviously. I have mis...

Re: Barnard action

Peter Out of interest did you measure the extractor groove diameter on your new brass? I'd be interested to know although it may not have a lot of relevance between your brass and mine given different ages lot numbers etc. That's the ultimate place to measure for head expansion but to do it properly...

Re: Barnard action

agro I have just done some measurements and will need to modify what I said slightly in my previous posting. My first Barnard was actually an 03 year of manufacture and the bolt face was opened out to 0.483” for the 6.5 Swede. I don’t know the exact measurement of the bolt face prior to it being ope...

Re: Barnard action

My first Barnard P (2006 vintage) was chambered in 6.5x55bjai and the bolt face needed to be opened up to accept the brass (Lapua). At the time Malcolm at Barnard explained that the earlier actions were held to a very tight tolerance for the 308 family head diameters because that is what was wanted ...

Re: Gem pro 250

One thing - are you running it on batteries or mains? I made a battery pack out of D Cells to run mine to avoid any AC power disturbances. Running them with internal batteries fitted is hopeless - they eat small batteries. Fluor lights close by supposedly give them grief as well.

Re: Gem pro 250

Bought two at the same time. First one did exactly as OP described. Returned immediately for a refund. Wish I done the same with the second - aside from their usual zero drifting it occasionally decides, with nothing on it, to ramp up and up and up. Bought from Amazon and the second when, when I rea...

Re: LabRadar Bluetooth app now available

Another problem being encountered over here and mentioned on Play Store feedback is the comm dropping out and the need to re-establish. Just put 45 shots past my LR this morning and had one loss of comms/comms error. I see on mylabradar website v1.2.1 is now available but with no comment as to why. ...

Re: LabRadar Bluetooth app now available

I don't know if it helps but normally when getting bluetooth devices to communicate they need to be visible to each other. In the case of my Chinese phone (running latest android) it was set to be visible by default (bad feature) but the LR app asked for access to the phone's bluetooth as part of th...

Re: LabRadar Bluetooth app now available

Yep, all good and up and running. Not a bad effort for the first release. Few guys over here are having problems though where their phones will not communicate with their LRs. Same comments are appearing on Play Store feedback. Only issue I had was my LR would not recognise the 2 unziped files on th...

Re: RCBS Chargemaster

The scales part of mine died. Contacted RCBS who informed me they do no servicing of the Chargemaster (badge engineered Chinese poo) and as mine was out of warranty I had to buy a replacement scales. I disected mine but cannot remember much details of the key pad except to guess at this point it is ...
