Re: Lee collet question

That's disappointing. I want to have my necks sized at their opening as well as further down ie parallel. I am very careful with chamfer, I will attend to that as I see fit, and should I wish to shoot flatbase or cast projectiles (very rarely and never in my F Class rifles) I will create a very smal...

Re: Barnard Ejector

Just remove the whole lot. No need to refit ejector minus the spring. The small open hole is not an issue.

Re: Barnard Ejector

The ejector is held in by a roll pin 2mm diameter by about 7.8mm long. You need to punch that out with a suitable punch. I don't know how strong the ejector spring is, pretty weak I would imagine given the size of it, but take care and wear safety glasses. My ejector, spring and roll pin live unused...

Re: Aluminium bolt cover

Why do you specifically want all alloy? I have several of the linked one which is made by Jason and Debbie Lowe in SA. It has a moulded plastic centre section and an alloy section where the cocking/decocking occurs. I have found mine to be excellent and the plastic seems impervious to gun cleaning s...

Re: MagnetoSpeed Reliability

The only problem I had with my V2 was on one occassion the display went biserk and displayed asci type characters. I removed/replaced the batteries and the fault cleared. Contacted the USA and they said contact the local agent who would replace the display unit. Trouble was he had no stock so I neve...

Re: Velocity changes with twist rate of barrel ?

Twist rate is also not one of the inputs for Quickload so they don't see differing twists affecting pressure/velocity. (Not saying QL is the be all end all.)

There was a thread sometime back on this topic as well and I think Frank did comment on that occassion as well IIRC to say no effect.

Re: Central Sight Base

Don't forget to then level your foresight to your rear sight. For something to check the rear against the fore I used to put a 6" rule in the slot that takes the foresight element and nip up the thread ring. Obviously can't do this with the current flash foresights though. If you have a modern ...

IF this is any help try PRECISION RELOADING in the US http://www.precisionreloading.com very fast and easy to deal with. I found them to be very helpful EXCEPT they don't accept CC. Need to wire them funds or use Western Union. Both methods unsatisfactory for me. Brownell Oz prices for me (NZ) are ...

Re: Omark M44B action screws

I have had excellent performance from my old Omark with the tang completely free floating. I drilled and taped a new hole just fwd of the trigger. My bedding starts just back from this screw and extends past the king screw. I was intially concerned that the distance between the 2 screws would be too...

Re: WTB: Omark Rail/Rings & F-Class Stock

A new Rem 700 new in box is 600 Aus dollars and it has a decent trigger. Omark is 100 dollars minimum then 300 dollars for adapter then rail and trigger still needed it will cost more for the old clunker than the new action.. Chris Agreed 100% Chris. What I should have added in my posting was in my...

Re: WTB: Omark Rail/Rings & F-Class Stock

I love my old Omark ”clunker”. Many years ago it was my primary TR rifle. Preferred it to the Grunig I owned at the same time. Mine has a Jewell trigger fitted (my original trigger was a shocker), Barnard 17 MOA rail, full alloy stock. Still running the old Tobler barrel fitted 30 years ago. Have ha...

Re: Mound Setup 101

I am just changing from FO to FTR (284 mothballed for now) so my opinion is that of a learner and I am still experimenting, and noting the opinion of much better others. I use a SEB Joypod on its smooth SEB front mat. I hold the stick knob very lightly between thumb and forefinger from a side onish ...

Re: chargemaster

Had exactly the same issue and aware of others similarly affected. Faulty power supply. It finishes the high speed dispensing which usually stops at around 2gr off target weight and then doesn't have the ompth to finish off at slow speed. Was running mine on a switched mode ps. Ran OK for months the...

Re: Krico 223 Target Rifle

Bit of useless info - about 48 years ago I owned an Anschutz 1574 in 222 Rem. It used the Krico 600 action. I was never sure whether it was a Krico rebadged (and maybe stocked) by Anschutz, or whether Anschutz just sourced the action alone from Krico. It was very accurate. Mate had one in 308W as we...
