Re: Throat angle

The "standard" PTG throat angle is 1.5, I've been using 2.5 with no ill affects on accuracy and longer throat life.

Re: nswra queens 2018

John Seeing as I am a NSW Councillor, I have put forward many F Class points of view to the NSWRA and have spent countless hours promoting F Class over the years, what's your point ??? You wrote: "Jase, I'm surprised. The Queen's prize is an event that has existed from the 1860s for a linear de...

Re: nswra queens 2018

Paul
I was simply offering a solution.
Johns point of view comes across as "be happy TR lets you shoot with them" and Bruce's is F Class should go it's own way.
Neither group can survive on it's own at the moment and this would be one way to prove it.

Re: nswra queens 2018

John
You're correct, we have moved the Queens into school holidays trying to attract some younger shooters, this was done at the Oct Council meeting.

Re: One mile + rifle

I wouldn't consider a 50 cal, not accurate enough for me. If I had somewhere closer to shoot longrange, it would be a 375 Cheytac for me or a big cased 338.

Re: Bisley style shooting

so how would you guys feel about a whole queens run bisley style? keep safe, bruce. Bruce I do like the idea, a few issues I can see. The first is the good old "but we don't do it that way attitude". The other more important one is most ranges don't have enough targets and I'll explain wh...

Re: Mastering velocity ES 284W

A few questions, how do know that the 8 twist doesn't stabilize the 183 SMK, going the Berger twist rate calculator it has a Stability factor of 1.5 or higher right down to 2500 FPS in an 8 twist ?? If the stability factor is over 1.5 it's stable and will give optimum BC. The 0.2839 FB dia isn't eno...

Re: F/Standard V FTR

Hi All I haven't heard of any push to remove FS, but from an OPM/Queens point of view there is to many grades. In my opinion this was part of the reason the <156 grain for FTR was supported at the recent ICFRA meeting held in Canada. At the recent NSW Queens numbers were as follows FSA and B around ...

Hi Phil
The usual misinformation, TR will ALL be Kongsberg and FC will be on paper, NO Silver Mountain ET's will be in use.

Rod has one he'd sell you !
I wouldn't buy one on the one I've seen. The Wilson one will do what you're after, if you want to add some bling add a micrometer top.
