Re: Problems with CCI 450s

Hi Trev Protrusion isn't the problem, when were the springs last replaced ?? If they haven't been replaced in the life of the action, that would be my first recommendation. The other thing to check is that the pin isn't dragging, easiest way the check is remove the cap and cocking sleeve and make su...

Re: Barrel Marked Ayling G.M 7.62

Briand from the man himself Dear Matt I imported a number of Parker-Hale hammer-forged barrels with specified amounts of treatment to remove unwanted traces of the hammer-forging process. Shooters placed orders for them, with a view to screwing them into the TX1200. That was just a reconditioned M98...

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

I'm still using federals since last post and still no miss fires. Can the Barnard firing pins be adjusted? Someone told me there is a Barnard firing pin with washers like the RPA for sale, any idea who is selling them. Trevor Have you measured your pin protrusion ? I haven't seen a Barnard out of s...

Re: throat angle

Bruce
I've gone the other way and some of my reamers have 2.5 per side, I dont see any real difference in load or pressure. I do see more consistency in accuracy and slightly better throat life.

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Wow. No wonder you guys are having trouble getting new members. It really doesn't matter what class we introduce if we have to break the bank just to become members. The extra cost would have to be coming from your state association as that would be the only variance from what we pay in Queensland....

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Pete,
That's about right my yearly subs are around $500 plus $15 range fees for a Saturday afternoon.
The "club" part is about $60 from memory and rest is NRAA/NSWRA plus a fee to the range complex which pays rent to the State Gov and running costs of the range.

Rod, in 2019 the Long Range Matchrifle shoot in Coonabarabran will be 8,9 & 10 Oct. This means that you can do the Coonabarabran PM on the 5 & 6. Monday the 7th off or practice. Long Range Match Rifle 8,9,10 Then drive to Sydney in time for the Queens 11,12 & 13. How good is that. So th...

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

From another forum: Thomas Gonzalez : A perfect setup on a loaded round ready to fire would be to have no more that 0.001 gap between the shoulder of the loaded round and the shoulder of the chamber. and at least a firing pin with the minimum protrusion, .050 being the minimum and .060 being the max...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

The proposed rules are a good start, but if you don't sort out a way to include braked rifles don't bother. I build quite a few "tactical rifles" and nearly all of them have brakes fitted, they want to be able to load test, verify zero's etc with the brake on. It's a waste of barrel, bulle...

Re: AUSTRALIAN FCWC TEAM SELECTION

It all comes down to the official and established protocols for the selection process. If they're deficient so is the integrity of the whole process. Is there a published protocol? There is no protocol, but I'm sure it's just one of many things on a long list, that the new Board will address. Witho...
