Re: to make a fire form barrel or not

I have been fire forming cases for a few years now with lead bullets ( been using lubed ones with a gas check fitted ) and Trail Boss powder. The cast lead bullets are cheap and they actually do a very nice job of polishing the leade. I fire them in 25 shot lots then give the bore a quick scrub and...

Re: Bedding Omark Action on V Block

Walt I wouldn't recommend it. The reason the Barnard system works so well is the actions are ground after heat treating which means they're round and straight and fit into a Vblock without inducing any stress on the action. The Omark on the other hand normally have an adaptor fitted which isn't the ...

Re: Ftr stock what’s the best.

Hey guys. I’m asking for a new shooter. He’s looking at a rifle build. He’s going a barnard model P most probably 223. As I’m a dirty old TR shooter. I’m asking for everyone opinion on what’s the best stock for FTR. There was a time on this forum when the top guys ( and there's plenty in Oz ) would...

Re: Nightforce Benchrest 12-42 x 56 running out of elevation

I don't think that's right. Your bullets must be traveling very slow if you can't get to 800 metres with a BR and 20MOA rail. If I'm reading what you've said right that means you have 70moa total now? It depends on many things, such as how straight and well fitted the barrel was and the outside of ...

Re: NECK CLERANCE - IS IT IMPORTANT?

Most people struggle to drive measuring equipment correctly, and then want to run very small clearances. Doesn't normally end well !
In most cases more clearance is better.

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

Hi Trev Protrusion isn't the problem, when were the springs last replaced ?? If they haven't been replaced in the life of the action, that would be my first recommendation. The other thing to check is that the pin isn't dragging, easiest way the check is remove the cap and cocking sleeve and make su...

Re: Barrel Marked Ayling G.M 7.62

Briand from the man himself Dear Matt I imported a number of Parker-Hale hammer-forged barrels with specified amounts of treatment to remove unwanted traces of the hammer-forging process. Shooters placed orders for them, with a view to screwing them into the TX1200. That was just a reconditioned M98...
