Re: Brass prep tasks- case volume, primer pockets et al

tim, loading black powder cartridges, a starting load is a full case to the base of the bullet. test that load, and then increasing charge wts compressed to the same column height. somewhere there will be an optimum compression wt for best grouping. these loads often exhibit e.s. (nots.d) of things ...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

matt, your term "tactical/varmint class is probably a more appropriate one than hunter class. it might well attract more newbies to our ranges than a meaningful hunter class. a 22 rimfire version could be shot at a different time than centre fire, which might attract further interest as well as...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

matt, because it is the heading of this thread. sungazer, my % is closer than yours. rifle manufactureres are not coming out with new hunting rifle design, because they have evolved to be what they are, and for that job really cannot be improved. in fact most of the so called "new improved"...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

long range hunting - what is required? first you must deliver 1000 ft lb to a deer sized target at max range. second most hunting bullets will not expand properly at 2000 fps. so here is the criteria. the max range requirement is when velocity is above 2000 fps and at that range it must deliver an a...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

given that 4.5 kg is upper end weight of a 375 h&h hunting rifle. a hunting rifle must be carried a lot. a hunting rifle design must emphasize offhand shooting. targets when hunting are quite big i.e vital zones. hunting projectiles are not designed for long range but rather terminal performance...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

8kg!!!!!. sounds like a case of a hunter class designed by someone who knows little of hunting. new potential members will roll up with real hunting rifles and go straight away again 4.5 kg scoped is a fairly heavy hunting rifle these are the guys you need there and that rule will just drive them aw...

Re: AUSTRALIAN FCWC TEAM SELECTION

of all the nraa disciplines, fclass open has clearly been the most successful internationally. yet we see palma teams and so forth continuing with methods that are clearly not working for them. it is beyond belief that they do not actively seek out the methods used by the open team. obviously part o...

Re: NRAA BOARD

let the fun begin! old boards know how things work and have never shared that, as it is how their power has always worked. one of their tricks is to give the new guys irrelevent tasks to keep them sidetracked. when new guys come along, this knowledge has to be gleaned the hard way by them. persistan...

Re: The Future

wal,
if they were selling things including hats they would have cash.
hats would be in stock and some could be given away wisely.
look at the ssaa store as an example.

Re: The Future

you are correct brad. we either correct the perception or bypass it. the latter would take less effort, and gain more in both the short and long terms. however the point is that the nraa could include hats in their products they sell to raise money,AND promote the organization and disciplines. how t...

roger
other people don't know what we shoot and how good it is.
because they have not been told.
no need to change product just because you neglected to sell the one you have now.
wal,
look at those hats.
imagine if they had nraa written on them.
keep safe,
bruce.
