Re: Events with manual targets 2019

Thanks for the replies
I won’t be able to get to all events but it’s great to see plenty of manual targets still in operation :!:

Re: How to hit the bullseye at 900 yd?

Welcome aboard!
Probably the quickest way forward is to see who is shooting well at your club and hopefully they will help with all your questions.
There’s plenty of reading on here as well!
Holding the gun still looks like issue #1 are you using a bipod and rear bag?

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

I assume the hunter class proposal is to attract people to our sport/association for the purpose of ensuring the future of long range shooting in Oz. My observation over the last 20 years or so with other clubs/kids soccer etc is that people are becoming much less willing to comit to anything. So ra...

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Initially I’d suggest the only restriction should be the standing range caliber and energy restrictions.

Events with manual targets 2019

Hi All,
To help with planning the shooting year what events will be shot on manual targets?
I understand that ETs will eventually take over so in the meanwhile I’d like to support the manual events.
If the Bisley shoots are competitor marked that’s great!
All the best for the new year

Re: George Wittorff hunter class

Really good to see discussion on this topic with hopefully a door opening for the broader shooting population. My experience at the ssaa has been a sea of plinkers-me included, so they are the ones we should be targeting. Pretty sure the BR comp would be the minor activity. My club shooting is the s...

Re: 2019 what’s your plans?

Hi Shane Thanks for the offer for a mat and rear bag, I’ll put dibs on one set and confirm that soon. When flying to SA I send the heavy stuff earlier by courier then fly with the rifle and ammo. Just have to check cost of the courier to cairns from Newcastle. I have also been offered accommodation ...

To shoot 1500yds a 7-300wsm might be even better.

Re: 2019 what’s your plans?

I’m planning on the Atherton shoot then a quick turnaround to the SA Queen’s by the look of it. Keen for the 20 shots at 1000 Bisley style Rod has been talking up this shoot so he should get there. The northern weather should be near perfect followed by ??? In SA... Not planning to do the state team...

2019 what’s your plans?

Hi All,
2018 is done on the shooting calendar so plans are underway for next year.
Think I’ll do the vic and SA Queen’s along with some Bisley shoots which are great fun.
Any shoot with manual targets is appealing as I think they will disappear over time :?
So what are your plans?

Re: 300 Winmag and WSM Yes or No

Hi Lee,
Welcome back!
Different ranges have different energy limits, restricted by the safety template etc.
If you are within the limits and win - no problem at all.
The 300 windbag will certainly test your sensitivity to recoil though, good luck!
