Re: Canberra Queens

Well done to all the winners!
Bob Kinnear made the trip worthwhile and Geoff Willis must be happy to be behind a gun again.
Keith and Peter 2nd and 3rd separated by 1 super
Mark Fairburn won TR C grade.

Re: Canberra Queens

I'd recon all the gas bags are at home, I'm still recovering from Connaught. A wild guess for me would be: Intermittent rain with wild wind changes, some technical difficulties with the targets, followed by a few crossfires and a great time at eagle hawk figuring it all out. May a great time be had ...

Re: Bisley style shooting

...South Africa doesn't get hot... I am detecting some verbal irony. And yes it would get hot there, although Bloemfontein is quite elevated. Since sarcasm is regarded as the lowest form of wit I prefer to go with irony :D With heat being a possible safety concern for our TR comrades maybe this cou...

Re: Bisley style shooting

Phil, You've highlighted something that I for one had never considered. As you say F-Class shooters can dress much lighter. For that reason it may be better to look at F-Class only events for warmer times and places, and also think carefully about 2 vs 3 per target, and consider reducing the number...

Re: Somchem S365 South Africa , Next World Champs

My thought on what to take will depend on what surfaces in 2 years time.
Flavours change and I wouldn't advise diving into a new build till a bit closer to the comp eg 2 yrs prior

There are no energy limits at Bloemfontein.[/quote]

I noticed some of the South Effricans using 300WSMs , one chap would lign up the shot then hang onto the seb grab rail
before firing.

Re: Another newbie

Welcome to the sport!
With the dollar value of some importance, can you get a 308 face bolt for your tikka then build from there.
New barrel and stock
With a barrel vice you can then shoot it as a 223 as well.
CRM do a tikka based F class rifle.

Re: 6.5 PRC

Hi Frank,
If you have time to post some info on this round would be great.
Possibly it will become another 7mm variant for F Open if there is good brass available.

6.5 PRC

This popped up on accurate shooter, the 6.5 creedmoore of the magnum bolt face?
Looks to be just a little different from the 6.5 saum
Should be a good one for the gunsmiths fitting new barrels :)

Re: Bisley style shooting

I'd be happy to pay a deposit for such a comp.
One thing to note is that the next FCWC will be shot Bisley style in South Africa.
Another reason to run such comps for those i interested in going.
As suggested before this needs to be open to all disciplines for max attendance.

Re: Mastering velocity ES 284W

Another thing to consider is carbon build up with your round count.
If you can get someone experienced to check with a borescope it may need a de carbon.
Appologies if I'm telling you nothing new
