Re: Effects of changing neck tension

My loaded round neck size is .337. Which gives me .0015 neck expansion or .003 clearance as my chanber is a .340 neck.. Im wondering if going slighly tighter eith a .335 bushing would give more consistent neck tension than what i have now. Im using cci450 small rifle magnum primers as i mentioned e...

Re: Berger 155.5 Fullbore variation

Berger/Spiveco/J4 have had control of the tool room for tool long now and know the consequences of any significant variation in their tooling. I believe they acquired their tooling supplier to ensure supply and quality control. They also learnt not to try and swap products between presses/production...

Re: Barrel Cool device

Just a couple of notes regarding measuring temperatures: ⋅ IR temperature devices are sensitive to the target surface emissivity - Principles of Non-Contact Temperature Measurement ...so your bead blasted barrel could produce a different result to the polished barrel; and probably the Cera...

Re: information on 7x47 lapua

Pity the WSSM brass has such a bad rep or they would neck-up nicely to a compact 7mm on a short action almost.

Re: Ogive Radius

Never seen anything official from Berger or any other source David. If I was already making a 7mm VLD with a single secant ogive 18 radius and wanted to make a double ogive VLD...I'd run something like a tangent 9 until I was 0.001" to 0.002" under groove diameter into a secant 18 and see ...

Re: What is the correct term?

My confusion is in the definition of a compensator vs a tuner. When you go looking for a definition of a tuner or compensator its it easy to get s clear definition, and in rule 2.18 it's clearer a compensator is not allowed not a muzzle brake. Anyway, clearly no one seems worried so I guess the way...

Re: What is the correct term?

Rule: F2.16 covers off on Barrel Extensions or 'tuners' if you like. jasmay where are you getting the notion the ICFRA rules are concerned with devices preventing upward lift? Rule F2.2 in particular the 'NB' statement and Rule F2.3 cover this off for F/O & F/TR in terms of weight. Rule F2.16 do...

Re: Gehmann #579 CLS Vari-Focal Astigmatic Iris system

bought one and I know you can't dodge the laws of optics but think I may be doing something wrong, I can't get a good focus on the target and the front sight at the same time, I tried to focus halfway and close the aperture down but it's still not much good I don't think the #579 will bring both th...

Re: 2016 Vic Queens Distance Change

:-k ... I wonder what they will do with the leftover 300m/300y mounds. In 5-10yrs time we'll be pointing out to the bump at the front of the range, while telling newbies, "We use to shoot from there at 300, but they couldn't print targets with small enough centers and our barrels were almost to...

Re: Anyone find stiffer ejector plunger springs for a Barnar

Keith might already be onto these? Stainless steel http://www.minibearings.com.au/store/partslist/springscompressionstandardstainlesssteel/springscompressionstandardstainlesssteel/a/1/ Check the gauge of wire and length, this should give you a relative idea of loading rate of the spring under compre...

Encouraging feedback. :)

Make sure you pass it onto the QRA also. I'm sure the QRA (and maybe a few other organisation) would like to 'know' they are moving in the right direction and not just 'hoping'.

Vern Juenke Manual

Thought I would post a link to the manual that came with my Vern Juenke Machine.

The official explanation is an interesting read at least.
