There is increasing concern in the wider F-Class and NRAA community about the quality of discussion on the ozfclass.com forums. We occasionally have posts containing personal attacks, and a few posters seem intent on provoking arguments whenever they post. The internet is a very public medium, and all members should ask themselves whenever they post "how is this going to look to everyone who might read it". A large percentage of the community, particularly in the capital cites, know very little about guns, and some don't even know any shooters. Sadly, I couldn't recommend this forum as a place to show them that we're a group of calm and rational people whom they need have no fears about being entrusted with firearms.
So something needs to be done. If the quality of discussion does not improve, then I will be taking steps to improve it. If it means that activity on the forum slows, thats too bad. It was never intended for ozfclass.com to get its audience by entertaining those who like to watch a brawl.
In short, think about what you post - think about all the people who could be reading it e.g. the anti-gun lobby, kids, prospective new F-Class members etc. Some would do well to take an objective look at their own posts over time, or better yet get someone else to assess them.
So that's the deal. Let's see if this request makes any difference. I hope it does, but if not then expect changes.

Hi Allan, I agree totally, we have enough problems with our image without being helping ourselves look bad... _________________ Den 243 |

There's too much misinterpretationing and splitting of affinities.
Are we witnessing 'forum rage'?
Well, if we are, we likely didn't see it here first.
Be nice to see it here last though.
Perhaps we're bored?
Maybe we're idle?
I was a teenage idle....I'm told.
We need to be careful out there.
You see?....see how inflammatory that is....?
I'm going back into the lounge now to chastise myself. |
