Ten shooters attended McIntosh Rifle Range today to compete in the 1000yds Benchrest match. It was nice and quiet compared to the march event, where there were 32 shooters, many shooting both light and heavy classes.
Cool conditions all day, and a light but switching breeze led to reasonable scores, although not many of the shooters got away clean, without being caught on the change of wind direction, Mirage would change first, then flags, but the condition would be there before the Mirage would change, leading to most shooters being left with high shots as the wind changed and the mirage boiled, throwing the shots high.
Heavy Gun score was won by Scott Newport, total score of 185.5/200.20.
Heavy Gun group was won again by Scott Newport with an aggregate group size of 10.25 inches.
Scott also took out highest scoring target and smallest group for HG with a 94.3 target and 9.3 inch group.
Light Gun Score was won by Col Prest, total score of 95.3/100.10.
Light Gun Group was won by Col Prest with an aggregate group size of 7.735 inches.
Col took out the highest scoring target in LG, with 50.1/50.5.
David Goodridge took out smallest group in LG with 5.2 inches.
